Musk and Rogan Expose Media’s DOGE Hypocrisy
Elon Musk, Joe Rogan Slam Media Outlets for Not Supporting DOGE
In a recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, host Joe Rogan and tech entrepreneur Elon Musk criticized mainstream media outlets for their lack of support regarding the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). This department, established by President Donald Trump and led by Musk, aims to reduce federal waste and inefficiency.

Rogan expressed bewilderment at the media’s stance, stating, “Everybody should be celebrating that we’ve found a way to cut out fraud and waste.” He emphasized that taxpayers should be pleased to see efforts directed at eliminating unnecessary government expenditures.
Since its inception, DOGE has scrutinized multiple federal agencies, including the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), the Department of Education, the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the Treasury Department, and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). These investigations have uncovered billions in misallocated and wasted funds.
However, DOGE’s initiatives have faced significant opposition from Democratic Party members and mainstream media, particularly concerning workforce reductions and contract cancellations aimed at cost savings.
Critics have questioned Musk’s qualifications and legality in his governmental role, suggesting he wields unconstitutional power. In response, Musk warned of potential national insolvency without decisive action: “If this continues, the country will become de facto bankrupt. It’s not an optional thing.”
Rogan suggested that liberal opposition to DOGE’s efforts might be rooted in partisan biases, remarking, “This shouldn’t be, ‘Oh no! The wrong people found this fact and now it’s a bad thing.’” Musk concurred with this sentiment during their discussion.
The conversation also highlighted concerns about USAID’s spending, with Rogan criticizing the agency’s name as potentially misleading. He mocked detractors’ concerns, saying, “People are going to starve, Elon,” and pointed out instances of questionable spending, such as “$250 million for transgender animal studies.”
A House Committee on Oversight and Reform recently revealed that the U.S. government had allocated over $241 million to “transgender animal testing” over the years. Musk described such expenditures as “literally mutilating animals in demented studies,” emphasizing the grotesque nature of these projects.
Musk further argued that media opposition to DOGE stems from a desire to protect bureaucratic interests. He suggested that accusations of being a “threat to democracy” are, in reality, concerns about threats to the existing bureaucracy, per Fox News.
He stated, “The real threat here is to the bureaucracy,” and proposed that replacing “threat to democracy” with “threat to bureaucracy” clarifies the media’s true concerns.
In a separate discussion, Musk criticized Social Security, labeling it “the biggest Ponzi scheme of all time.” He highlighted demographic challenges, noting that increased life expectancy and declining birth rates strain the system, leading to more retirees receiving benefits for extended periods. A federal report last year estimated that Social Security’s trust funds could deplete by 2035.
Musk also touched upon the potential role of artificial intelligence (AI) in government functions. He predicted that AI could surpass human intelligence by the end of the decade, suggesting it might handle certain governmental responsibilities. However, he cautioned against an “oppressive woke nanny AI” that could enforce extreme ideological conformity.
Despite the controversies, Rogan defended Musk’s intentions, dismissing claims of financial misconduct. He asserted, “He has $400 billion; he’s not going to steal your money.” Rogan praised Musk as a “super genius” committed to exposing governmental corruption, emphasizing that Musk’s efforts aim to benefit the nation by addressing systemic inefficiencies.
DOGE supporters argue that Musk’s leadership brings much-needed innovation to government processes, while critics caution against potential overreach and unintended consequences of rapid, large-scale changes.
