Squad Member Gets Betrayed by Her Own Party – Her Disturbing Israel Comment Sparks Liberal Civil War
The media might praise AOC and her progressive “squad,” but it doesn’t seem America does. And one of these far-left congresswomen, Rashida Tlaib, didn’t make many friends with her recent statement.
From Breitbart:
“I want you all to know that among progressives, it’s become clear that you cannot claim to hold progressive values, yet back Israel’s apartheid government, and we will continue to push back and not accept that you are progressive except for Palestine,” Tlaib said during an online forum organized by “American Muslims for Palestine” and “Americans for Justice in Palestine Action.”
Uh… what!? Tlaib, once again, is showing her true colors against one of America’s closest allies.
But it doesn’t seem her comments were embraced by all progressives. Because members of her own party blasted back.
From Daily Wire:
Tlaib’s remarks were so outrageous that many leftist Democrats and activists, like ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt, condemned Tlaib for her remarks…
“It’s absolutely reprehensible and does nothing to advance the cause of peace.” […]
Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY) tweeted: “I fundamentally reject the notion that one cannot support Israel’s right to exist as a Jewish and democratic state and be a progressive.”
Well, it looks like conservatives don’t have to field this one. Because Tlaib’s own party is going after her for these insane comments.
For quite some time, members of the “squad” have attacked Israel–while pretending not to be anti-Semitic.
But it’s getting harder and harder to believe these Democrats when they openly call the only democratic nation in the Middle East “apartheid.”
That term doesn’t even make sense in regards to Israel, which treats all its citizens (including minority groups like Israeli Arabs) with equal rights.
Tlaib’s comments have less to do with Israel’s actual policies and more to do with her allegiance to Palestinian forces–and her apparent hatred for the Jewish people.
The United States was the first nation to back Israel when it became a nation in 1948. We’ve had a long and fruitful alliance with the only Jewish state on the planet.
And even fellow Democrats were outraged to hear Rep. Tlaib say what she did against it.
This conflict only underscores the simmering, but still present, civil war going on in the Democratic Party.
Moderates have been battling progressives for control. But now it seems progressives are starting to splinter, fighting each other.
Key Takeaways:
- House “squad” member Rashida Tlaib attacked Israel, saying progressives can’t back the nation.
- Numerous members of her own party hit back, condemning her attacks on Israel.
- Tlaib and her allies have long expressed anti-Israel, and seemingly anti-Semitic views.
