Kash Patel Reveals Chilling New Details About Kirk Assassination
Kash Patel Confirms Charlie Kirk Assassination Was Planned, Reveals Key Note and DNA Evidence
FBI Director Kash Patel provided fresh details Monday about the investigation into the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, confirming the attack was premeditated and that key forensic evidence has been recovered.
The suspect, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson from Utah, reportedly left a note stating, in essence, “I have the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk and I’m going to take it.”
Forensic analysis later verified the note’s contents, despite prior reports that it had been destroyed.
Patel said the note was recovered from Robinson’s residence, which he shared with his partner.
“Evidence of its existence… was in the location in the suspect and partner’s home. But we have since learned that the note, even though it has been destroyed, we have found forensic evidence of the note, and we have confirmed what that note says,” Patel said.
The shooting took place Wednesday at Utah Valley University during the first stop of Kirk’s “American Comeback Tour,” a 15-campus fall speaking series organized by Turning Point USA.
The tour was designed to engage students on college campuses nationwide, marking Kirk’s return to public speaking after a summer break, the Salt Lake City Tribune reports.
Robinson fired from a nearby rooftop, hitting Kirk in the neck while he addressed students.
Video of the incident circulated widely online, and Kirk later died at a local hospital.
Robinson was identified after the FBI released video footage to the public.
His father recognized him and, with the help of a family friend, coordinated with U.S. Marshals to ensure he surrendered, despite initial threats to harm himself.
In an earlier report, TTOA noted that authorities said Robinson joked on Discord about being Kirk’s killer, claiming a “doppelganger” was trying to frame him.
Investigators found additional writings on bullet casings referencing Antifa, “trans” ideology and furries, including one that read, “Hey fascist! Catch!”
Officials concluded Robinson’s animosity was politically motivated.
DNA evidence further tied Robinson to the crime scene.
Samples from a towel covering the rifle and a screwdriver in the sniper’s nest matched him, while DNA from the bolt-action rifle remains under analysis, according to the New York Post.
Despite some media speculation suggesting Robinson was politically conservative, Patel clarified he leaned left and lived with a partner transitioning from male to female.
“His family has collectively told investigators that he subscribed to left-wing ideology and even more so in these last couple of years,” Patel said.
A text exchange between Robinson and another individual further confirmed premeditation.
Patel noted that Robinson is not cooperating with authorities but praised the FBI’s quick response, The Post Millennial reports.
“If you look at historical cases like [Luigi] Mangione and the Boston [Marathon] bombing, those two manhunts took five days. We apprehended our suspect in 33 hours because we were transparent and open,” he said.
Combined with forensic findings and the swift arrest, investigators now have a detailed picture of Robinson’s motives and the calculated nature of the attack.
Authorities continue to examine his devices, communication and other materials to determine if anyone else was involved.
