Candace Owens Breaks Silence After Bone-Chilling FBI Discovery
Candace Owens Says FBI Uncovered Death Threat Against Her, Questions DOJ Transparency
Conservative influencer Candace Owens has shared a harrowing account on social media of how a violent death threat targeting her family was uncovered, leading to the arrest of a New Jersey man, Haim Braverman.
The threat, which involved explicit plans to harm Owens, became public after months of investigation by the FBI.
The ordeal began after Owens participated in a heated debate with Rabbi Shmuley Boteach on Piers Morgan’s show last September.
According to Owens, the exchange sparked an intense backlash, resulting in disturbing threats directed at her and her loved ones. These threats allegedly came from individuals associated with extreme views, including Zionists.
Owens was first contacted by federal law enforcement in late September, when the FBI informed her they had identified a suspect in relation to the threatening behavior.
While this initial contact brought some relief, Owens revealed she didn’t learn the full details of the case until months later.
Despite being aware that law enforcement was involved, she remained in the dark about the specifics of the threat until she received a “victim packet” in March.
Braverman’s arrest came with shocking revelations. The New Jersey resident had been part of a private group chat where he allegedly posted violent threats and explicit images of weapons, including knives, steel bats and stun guns.
The FBI discovered that Braverman had gone so far as to share his intention to murder Owens, a sentiment he expressed repeatedly within the chat, according to the New York Post.
In a statement from Owens, she expressed her concerns over the lack of transparency from federal authorities, particularly regarding the release of key information such as Braverman’s mugshot.
She also noted the sudden removal of his social media profiles, raising questions about whether there was an effort to shield his identity from public view.
The court filings indicated that Braverman had actively planned his attack, stating in disturbing audio messages that he was prepared to go to prison for his actions.
His motive for targeting Owens, as prosecutors revealed, was directly linked to her outspoken criticism during her debate with Rabbi Shmuley, particularly her controversial remarks about a prominent Jewish religious figure.
In one message, Braverman allegedly stated that he would “gladly find her and kill her,” expressing outrage over Owens’ comments.
The federal criminal complaint also included a video of Braverman brandishing a bat, suggesting that he was prepared to act on his violent fantasies if given the opportunity.
Despite the alarming nature of the threats, Owens was left frustrated by the lack of information provided by the authorities.
She pointed out the absence of updates on the case, including Braverman’s identity, and called for more transparency from the Department of Justice.
The case continues to raise concerns about how such threats are handled and whether more could have been done to prevent the escalation of violence.
Braverman has pled guilty to charges of transmitting interstate threats and his sentencing is scheduled for September, The Post reports.
Owens concluded her social media post by reaffirming her commitment to speaking out despite the threats she’s faced, stating that she would not be silenced by the violence that some seek to impose on her for her views.
