Report: Dave Chappelle Abruptly Ends Florida Show, Walks Off Stage After Fan Pulls Out Phone
Dave Chappelle reportedly walked offstage during a performance at Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, Florida, after a member of the audience took out a cell phone.
Fans, who had paid over $100 per ticket, were left disappointed when Chappelle abruptly ended his performance and walked off the stage. This incident took place during the second show of a five-night engagement at the Seminole Hard Rock, scheduled between Christmas and New Year’s.
The Miami Herald reported that the cause of Chappelle’s abrupt departure was a fan in the audience using a cellphone. Chappelle, visibly upset, reprimanded the fan before exiting the stage. This reaction aligns with the venue’s policy, as stated on the Hard Rock Live’s website. The policy, as per the artist’s request, designates select events as “device and electronics free.”
Chappelle’s schedule includes additional performances at The Hard Rock Live on the following Friday and Saturday nights. This incident adds to the series of notable events involving the comedian, including a previous on-stage attack during a performance at the Hollywood Bowl.
