FBI Executes Jaw-Dropping Raid as New Target Revealed
FBI Raids Fulton County Election Office Amid Ongoing 2020 Election Scrutiny
Federal agents with the FBI carried out a court-authorized search Wednesday at Fulton County’s Election Hub and Operations Center in Georgia, a facility opened in 2023 to consolidate election administration and record storage.
Authorities confirmed the operation but said the investigation remains ongoing, declining to specify what materials were sought or seized.
FBI Atlanta said agents were executing a sealed warrant at the facility on Campbellton Fairburn Road in Union City, where county election operations are managed.
As of early afternoon, agents were still present at the site, according to 11Alive reporter Grace King, who was on the scene while law enforcement activity continued.
Multiple outlets, including Fox News and Reuters, reported the operation is tied to the 2020 presidential election, though federal officials have not publicly confirmed that connection.
Local reporting has indicated the search may involve ballots or election records from that year, which have been the subject of ongoing legal disputes.
The FBI action follows renewed legal pressure on Fulton County over access to 2020 election materials.
Last month, TTOA reported that the Department of Justice (DOJ) filed a lawsuit seeking to compel compliance with a subpoena issued by the Georgia State Election Board for ballots, tabulator tapes, signature envelopes, and related records.
A Fulton County judge sided with the state election board in late December, allowing the subpoena effort to move forward.
State Election Board member Salleigh Grubbs, a former Cobb County Republican Party chair, traveled to the elections office during the FBI operation and briefly spoke with reporters.
Grubbs said she did not know what agents were collecting but suggested the activity could be connected to unresolved subpoena disputes.
“This procedure belongs to the FBI,” she said. “I don’t know what they’ve requested… I’m just hoping we’ll get more answers.”
Grubbs added that she felt “disbelief” seeing federal agents at the facility, calling the development “a long time coming.”
Democratic state Sen. Josh McLaurin, who is running for lieutenant governor, also appeared at the site and said local officials were “extremely alarmed,” noting reports that the FBI may be seeking 2020 ballots tied to the DOJ lawsuit.
Fulton County has remained a focal point of national controversy since the 2020 election.
President Donald Trump and 19 allies were indicted in Georgia over alleged efforts to overturn the election results, though the cases were later dismissed after District Attorney Fani Willis was removed due to a conflict of interest.
Former Special Counsel Jack Smith previously described Georgia as “ground zero” for alleged election interference, according to The Post Millennial.
Although multiple audits confirmed Georgia’s certified results, procedural lapses in Fulton County have drawn criticism.
In December 2025, county officials acknowledged that more than 130 tabulator tapes covering roughly 315,000 early in-person votes were unsigned, with an additional ten tapes representing over 20,000 votes missing.
State Election Board member Janelle King described the failures as “sloppy” and “egregious,” while Secretary Raffensperger said clerical errors did not invalidate legally cast ballots and emphasized that corrective training had been implemented, FOX 5 Atlanta reported.
No arrests or charges have been announced in connection with Wednesday’s FBI operation.
Still, the federal presence underscores sustained interest in Fulton County’s handling of election records and adds another chapter to the long-running scrutiny surrounding Georgia’s role in the 2020 election.
