Former NFL MVP Cam Newton Jumped By Several Guys While Dressed Like A Witch
If you had to pick anyone in a fight, very few people would pick someone who stood at an impressive 6’5, 270 pounds.
Surprisingly enough, while running a youth 7-on-7 camp, Cam Newton became involved in a physical altercation.
That wasn’t even the strangest thing….he was seemingly wearing a Black Witch Hat at the time.
Take a look:
More here:
The 7-on-7 competition was organized by We Ball Sports, a prominent apparel and sports media company.
Newton was there as he runs C1N, which is a youth sports organization who sponsored a team in the tournament.
USA Today has more on the event:
We Ball Sports’ co-founder, Nehemiah Mitchell, told The Athletic that everyone involved in the altercation, including Newton, was removed from the event.
Newton was involved in a fight, a source told The Athletic, with two coaches of TSP (TopShelf Performance), a national 18U 7-on-7 football program. TSP also trains receivers across youth, high school and NFL levels.
“We are deeply concerned about the recent incident involving Cam Newton, and our thoughts are with all parties affected,” TopShelf Performance trainers/coaches Stephon and TJ Brown said in a statement to The Athletic. “Violence has no place in our community, and we strongly condemn any form of aggression.”
Individuals involved in the altercation were from TopShelf Performance, which is a wide receiver training facility in Atlanta.
The Athletic has more on the altercation:
In video clips posted on social media, individuals involved with TopShelf Performance, a wide receiver training facility in Atlanta that had youth teams in the event, approached Newton at the top of a set of steps underneath a We Ball Sports tent Sunday afternoon. Newton was grabbed and a fight ensued. Two men shown fighting with Newton were both coaches for TopShelf Performance and formerly coached with the quarterback, according to a source with knowledge of elite 7-on-7 football. The video shows Newton grabbing one of the combatants and dragging him aside, where the fracas continued. Police and security guards broke up the altercation.
They added that the company is “actively addressing this matter internally.”
Newton’s representatives did not immediately respond to messages Sunday evening. When reached for comment, the Atlanta Police Department declined to provide information about the situation.
According to Mitchell, TopShelf beat C1N in a “heated game” with a lot of trash talk between the under-18 teams on Saturday. The tensions boiled over on Sunday.
The event is full of tension and pressure as it has 16 teams in each division, the top under-18 team earns a $5,000 prize and the under-15 team receives $1,500.
Cam Newton is extremely popular in the sports world, and many people have taken to X to voice their opinions:
Cam Newton once ran through like eight Atlanta Falcons in one play and gleefully smiled the entire time as they bounced off of him.

Why the hell would you try to fight that.
Despite the altercation and Newton being forced to win, the Cam Newton 15U team won the 7-on-7 tournament.
