‘Grifters’: Megyn Kelly Has A Message For ‘Morning Joe’ And Mika After Their Mar-A-Lago Visit

The married hosts of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” have spent years trashing President Donald Trump’s legacy, but now that he’s headed back to the White House for four more years they seem to be interested in mending fences.

Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski confirmed earlier this week that they recently met with Trump at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, but pundits including former Fox News host Megyn Kelly were immediately skeptical of their motives.

As The Hill reported:

On her Sirius XM show, Kelly noted comments from liberal pundit Keith Olbermann that he posted to the social platform X about the trip. In the comments, he said the MSNBC hosts “are confidence tricksters — and grifters.”

“That’s exactly right,” Kelly said on the show highlighted by Mediaite. “They’re grifters. These two, yes, worked day and night to try to get Trump the nomination back in ’15,’16. They embarrassed themselves and sacrificed any pretense of journalistic ethics in doing it. It was true bootlicking.”

Scarborough and Brzezinski said Monday that they made their way to Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate last week to speak with him about unifying the country and cooling political rhetoric.

Kelly was far from the only person with thoughts about the meeting:

Trump himself also responded to news about the visit from the couple, as the Daily Mail reported:

But the president-elect told Fox News that he took the meeting because in order to ‘Make America Great Again, it is very important, if not vital, to have a free, fair and open media or press.’

‘I am not looking for retribution, grandstanding or to destroy people who treated me very unfairly,’ he added.

Trump said Scarborough requested the meeting and that pair traveled to Palm Beach, Florida, to meet on Friday morning at Mar-a-Lago.

‘Many things were discussed, and I very much appreciated the fact that they wanted to have open communication,’ he said. ‘In many ways, it’s too bad that it wasn’t done long ago.’

Trump said that both of the hosts, ‘congratulated me on running a ‘great and flawless campaign, one for the history books.’
