‘I Found The Evidence’: Guy Who Blew Lid Off Minnesota Fraud Scandal Investigates Different Blue State’s Voter System, Says He’s Found a Loophole

Independent journalist Nick Shirley appeared on “The Riley Gaines Show” Wednesday to discuss what he described as a potential voter registration loophole in California that could allow illegal immigrants to cast ballots in the state.

Shirley told host Riley Gaines that he visited the San Diego County Registrar of Voters office the previous week and questioned an employee about why a government-issued ID is not required to register to vote in California.

The employee told Shirley that applicants sign an affidavit swearing their information is truthful, and that the signature on the application is then compared to the signature on file.

Shirley pressed the employee, asking whether the absence of an ID requirement “leaves any room for error” in the registration process and whether illegal immigrants were potentially casting ballots in California.

The employee denied that illegal immigrants could be voting and challenged Shirley to explain how such a scenario would be possible.

Shirley proposed that a person without identification could sign a registration form under a false name — using “Richard Sherman” as an example — and technically cast a vote.

The employee acknowledged that such a person “would be lying” and said she did not believe illegal immigrants would abuse the registration process to vote.

Gaines questioned whether the employee was simply unaware of how the system could be exploited or was “attempting to be politically corrupt,” adding that she was amazed by the employee’s apparent willingness to dismiss the possibility of bad actors committing voter fraud.

Shirley responded, “Yeah, and God bless this lady because she’s just doing her job, right? It’s not her responsibility for what’s happening in California, but it just goes to show how easy it would be for anyone to vote.”

Shirley also told Gaines that after posting a video from his visit, a noncitizen reached out to him claiming to have traveled to California specifically to demonstrate how easily an ineligible person could vote.

“I mean, somebody reached out to me after I posted that video, and [they were] like, ‘I actually am a Canadian and I came down to California to vote just to show you how easy it was,’” Shirley claimed.

Earlier in the show, Shirley pointed to what he called irregularities in California’s voter rolls, noting that certain addresses — including UPS store locations and college campuses — had unusually low or suspicious numbers of registered voters relative to expectations.

“So [there are] a lot of these irregularities within their voter rolls that would be very much solved if people just had to present their own IDs,” Shirley said.

The California Secretary of State’s press team responded to the allegations, calling them “a new version of old erroneous claims that spread misinformation.”

After Shirley posted his video online, the press office of Governor Gavin Newsom reposted it on X, mocking his findings.

The post referenced a California woman charged with several felonies after illegally registering her dog to vote and casting two ballots under the animal’s name.

“Slow Shirley is welcome to extend his visit and enroll in California’s free community college. He clearly needs it,” the Newsom press office post concluded.
