House PASSES Resolution to BLOCK Trump’s Tariffs on Canada — Here Are the Republicans Who Voted “Yes”

In a 219-211 vote, the House of Representatives has just approved a resolution that would terminate President Trump’s tariffs on Canada.

Specifically, it would shut down President Trump’s declaration of a national emergency to impose tariffs on Canada.

Take a look at the final vote:

In total, six Republicans sided with Democrats to vote in favor of the measure.

Here are their names:

  • Thomas Massie of Kentucky
  • Brian Fitzpatrick of Pennsylvania
  • Dan Newhouse of Washington
  • Kevin Kiley of California
  • Jeff Hurd of Colorado
  • Don Bacon of Nebraska

One Democrat, Rep. Jared Golden, voted “no” on the resolution.

The Hill has more details on why these Congress members voted as they did:

The resolution would terminate Trump’s use of a national emergency to impose punitive measures on Canada.

Rep. Jared Golden (Maine) was the only Democrat to vote “no.”

“We have a trade agreement, and I think they’ve been a good ally, and I think they’ve been unfairly attacked by the administration, and so I’m going to oppose it – I’m going to oppose the tariffs,” Bacon told The Hill before the vote.

Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) has argued on X that “taxing authority is vested in the House of Representatives, not the Executive.”

Bacon, Massie and Kiley all voted with Democrats to block a procedural rule on Tuesday evening, due to language in it that would have barred a member’s ability to call snap votes to repeal Trump’s tariffs.

The failed rule vote on Tuesday paved the way for a slew of snap repeal votes to be called up — starting with Wednesday’s.

Now, the resolution heads to the Senate, where it stands little of chance of getting the support needed to overturn a presidential veto.

Politico explained:

The resolution now goes to the Senate, where it could pass — the upper chamber has already approved two similar resolutions on Trump’s Canada tariffs with the support of four Republicans. But the president would certainly veto it, and Congress is unlikely to muster the two-thirds majority in both chambers needed to overturn a veto.

There’s no way this resolution actually goes into effect.

However, it still shows the true colors of many RINOs in the House of Representatives.

Remember their names, come midterms.

President Trump has already vowed to primary any Republicans who vote against his tariffs.

Any Republican, in the House or the Senate, that votes against TARIFFS will seriously suffer the consequences come Election time, and that includes Primaries! Our Trade Deficit has been reduced by 78%, the Dow Jones has just hit 50,000, and the S&P, 7,000, all Numbers that were considered IMPOSSIBLE just one year ago. In addition, TARIFFS have given us Great National Security because the mere mention of the word has Countries agreeing to our strongest wishes. TARIFFS have given us Economic and National Security, and no Republican should be responsible for destroying this privilege. PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP
