Joe Biden’s Sister Breaks Silence, Says Hunter’s A Victim: “I don’t know what could be worse than watching Hunter walk through hell
President Biden’s younger sister Valerie Biden Owens is breaking her silence (and cashing in) with a new book where she claims Hunter Biden is a victim of conservative attacks to try to ‘bring Joe down.’
Owens herself has profited nicely from Joe’s political career taking on multiple roles in his various campaigns or consulting on them while her daughters got roles in the Obama administration. She is out promoting her new book, “Growing Up Biden: A Memoir.”
When asked by USA Today if Hunter bears some responsibility for the scandals she shockingly said “No. Hunter walked through hell. He didn’t wake up and say, ‘Aunt Val, I think I’m going to be an addict.”
She said he had “courage” and “strength” to fight his addictions. And while he surely did have that, this is not the story. The story is his reckless behavior while he was so close to power.
“I don’t know what could be worse than Beau’s dying of glioblastoma when he was 46 years old,” she said.
“I don’t know what could be worse than watching Hunter walk through hell.”
As to what is coming or may come at the family because of Hunter’s scandals she said:
“You never say the worst is over, but whatever comes, we can handle it as a family.”
She then blamed Trump and his followers for some of Biden’s problems:
“Trump and his right-wing followers have continued to do whatever they can to discredit the family and therefore to bring Joe down.”
“My brother’s a stutterer, and he still stutters and tries to get things out,” she said defending the flubs and gaffes that have defined him as a politician.
“And what did really make me mad and drive me crazy was when he would go to speak, and there would be a hesitancy, and the critique from the bad guys, the right wing, was that he’s not smart; he didn’t know what he was saying.”
Hunter’s behavior matters not because like everyone in the swamp the Bidens mix business with the government.
It matters because he was so reckless. That laptop almost took down Joe’s campaign for president.
What if the laptop or something else that is still out there fell into the hands of the Chinese government or Putin?

During Biden’s second presidential campaign in 2007 and 2008, Owens served as her brother’s national campaign chair. It does not appear that Biden’s campaign paid her directly, but the Democratic consulting firm Joe Slade White & Company, where Owens was serving as an “Executive Vice President,” raked in over $2.5 million from Biden’s presidential campaign and the “Citizens for Biden” committee between March 2007 and October 2008.
Owens’ daughter, Valerie J. Owens, who goes by “Missy,” also cashed in by working for her uncle’s presidential campaign, where she made tens of thousands of dollars.
Missy would go on to score multiple high-level positions during the Obama-Biden administration. She served as the deputy chief of staff in the Energy Department between Feb. 2009 and June 2011, according to her LinkedIn page. She then served a year as the chief of staff to the deputy Commerce secretary for a year.
Owens then worked at Coca-Cola in its government relations department for a decade, including while the company was reportedly lobbying against a bill cracking down on the use of Uyghur forced labor in China. Two months ago, General Motors hired her to a senior position in the company’s regulatory affairs department.
Valerie’s other daughter, Casey, also got a job in the Obama-Biden administration, serving as a special assistant to the senior coordinator for China at the Treasury Department for over two years.
Her LinkedIn says she “managed a range of workstreams essential to the execution of the US-China Strategic & Economic Dialogue – one of the largest bilateral foreign economic policy initiatives of the Obama Administration.” She would later work up the corporate ladder at Starbucks, where she is now a vice president.
