Kash Bypasses Bondi With Unprecedented Move: Report
Kash Patel Bypasses Pam Bondi to Establish Direct Line to Trump’s Oval Office in Unprecedented Move: Report
In an unprecedented move reshaping federal law enforcement protocols, newly appointed FBI Director Kash Patel has reportedly secured a direct communication channel to President Donald Trump, circumventing traditional chains of command that have defined the bureau’s relationship with the White House for generations.
A new report indicates one of Patel’s first actions after assuming leadership was establishing a secure line connecting his FBI office and home directly to the Oval Office—a move that bypasses Attorney General Pam Bondi and breaks with decades of established practice.
This direct line represents just one example of how Patel and other Justice Department officials have reorganized reporting structures since the administration took office.
Sources say Trump’s deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller has become actively involved in Justice Department operations, regularly communicating with top officials about FBI matters.

The Wall Street Journal highlighted the extent of this realignment: “Patel’s determination to keep in close contact with Trump himself is an arrangement outside the traditional chain of command in which the FBI director reports to the deputy attorney general, and the president usually talks only to the attorney general.”
Personnel decisions also reflect this changing dynamic. Despite Patel’s initial intention to appoint longtime FBI agent Robert Kissane as his deputy, he ultimately deferred to Trump’s preference for conservative commentator Dan Bongino, according to people familiar with the discussions.
The Journal further reports that Miller “repeatedly called then-acting deputy attorney general Emil Bove at night to push for the FBI to do more to execute Trump’s immigration crackdown.”
Bove subsequently ordered prosecutors to abandon the bribery case against New York Mayor Eric Adams, citing interference with “the mayor’s ability to assist on Trump’s priorities of fighting illegal immigration and violent crime.”
In another notable development, sources cited by the Journal indicate Patel has explored hiring private security separate from the FBI protective detail traditionally assigned to the director.
Insiders suggest this unusual request stems from concerns about the reliability of existing agency personnel.

Under the usual chain of command, the FBI director would contact the President through the Attorney General, like all FBI directors have since J. Edgar Hoover in…
The restructuring comes as the administration implements broader changes across federal law enforcement agencies, positioning the FBI more directly under White House influence than at any point in recent history.
This development marks a significant departure from historical norms. The Gateway Pundit’s Jim Hoft noted that since the era of J. Edgar Hoover, FBI directors have traditionally maintained an arm’s-length relationship with the White House to preserve investigative independence.

Bondi has come under fire following the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) botched release of the Jeffery Epstein files in late February.
Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) has since demanded transparency from the DOJ regarding the release of complete files.
Luna expressed frustration during a recent Fox News appearance over the DOJ’s silence and urged Bondi to make the remaining documents public.
“I feel the same way that you do, Jesse. I’m very frustrated, just like many Americans are. I think that those lists need to be released to the American people,” Luna stated.
“That’s really up to the decision of Attorney General Pam Bondi,” the congresswoman added, giving voice to the growing impatience among those seeking answers.
