Michelle Obama Blasts Pro-Trump Republican Women, Issues Controversial Reproductive Health Comments

Former First Lady Michelle Obama made remarks about women’s reproductive health during her podcast that have generated public reaction.

The episode of “IMO with Michelle Obama & Craig Robinson” featured Obama, her brother Craig Robinson, and OB/GYN Dr. Sharon Malone.

Dr. Malone is married to Eric Holder, who served as Attorney General under President Barack Obama.

During the podcast, Obama said that women’s reproductive health “has been reduced to the question of choice.”

Obama expressed concern that many men do not understand the full scope of what women experience regarding reproductive health.

She said this lack of understanding affects how male leaders approach abortion legislation.

Obama stated, “Women’s reproductive health is about our life.”

She added that the reproductive system is “a whole complicated” mechanism, and producing life is only one function, according to the New York Post.

Obama described the reproductive system metaphorically as a “machine” that must be functioning well beyond its ability to create life.

She said this function is “the least of what it does.”

Obama also criticized Republican men who do not act on abortion issues.

She said these men “sit on their hands” and trade women’s health concerns for benefits such as tax breaks.

The former first lady also commented on voting patterns among Republican women.

She said many women vote in alignment with their husbands’ political choices.

“There are a lot of men who have big chairs at their tables,” Obama said.

“There are a lot of women who vote the way their man is going to vote,” she added.

Pro-life advocates responded critically to Obama’s remarks.

Danielle D’Souza Gill, wife of Rep. Brandon Gill (R-TX), posted a statement on social media.

She wrote that motherhood is “the most beautiful and powerful gift God gave women.”

Gill said creating life is “a miracle,” opposing Obama’s characterization.

Content creator Isabel Brown also criticized Obama on social media.

Brown described Obama as a “supposed feminist icon” and objected to the remarks about women’s ability to create life.

Michelle Obama’s podcast currently ranks 51st on Apple Podcasts.
