Trump White House Will Collapse Within 30 Days, Top Political Guru Predicts
Veteran Democratic strategist James Carville forecasts an imminent collapse of the Trump administration within the next month, even as polling data shows the president enjoying some of his strongest approval ratings since taking office.
Speaking to Mediaite’s Dan Abrams, Carville delivered his stark assessment with characteristic Louisiana bluntness.
“I believe that this administration, in less than 30 days, is in the midst of a massive collapse and particularly a collapse in public opinion,” Carville declared, urging fellow Democrats to step back and let events unfold naturally.
The seasoned political operative, known for his role in Bill Clinton’s successful 1992 presidential campaign, advised Democrats to adopt a strategic position of non-intervention.
“Democrats need to play possum. This whole thing is collapsing,” he insisted, while taking aim at progressive advocacy groups in Washington.
“It doesn’t need Elizabeth Warren and somebody screaming to pacify some progressive advocacy groups in Washington, which, by the way, I wish these people were just useless. They’re actually worse than useless, that they’re detrimental.”
The Daily Mail has reported that recent polling data appears to contradict Carville’s prediction of imminent doom for the Trump administration, however.
The outlet noted that multiple respected polling organizations show Trump maintaining or even strengthening his position with the American public.
A J.L. Partners/DailyMail survey of 1,000 registered voters revealed Trump commanding a 53 percent favorability rating, with broad support across most age demographics. Notably, the poll showed Trump making significant inroads with Democratic voters, capturing support from one in five party members.
James Johnson, co-founder of J.L. Partners, highlighted the significance of these numbers to Daily Mail. “Trump’s popularity has this week reached new heights, at 53 percent, including winning over one in five Democrats,” he noted.
This surge in popularity comes despite implementing potentially controversial policies regarding deportations, DEI initiatives and tariffs.
Other polling institutions reflect similar trends.
Emerson College’s latest survey placed Trump at 48 percent approval, while CNN/SSR polling of 1,206 U.S. adults showed him maintaining a solid 47 percent approval rating.
Daily Mail reported that Spencer Kimball, executive director of Emerson College Polling, observed that despite public debate over various policy positions, “Trump’s approval has not shifted significantly since last month.”
Carville, however, remains steadfast in his assessment.
In a recent MSNBC appearance, he doubled down on his strategy of Democratic non-intervention.
“What I think they should do is what we call in rural America, play possum. Just let it go,” he advised, according to Daily Mail.
“Don’t get in the way of it. Or as we like to say, don’t just stand there, do nothing. Let this germinate… We don’t need to get in front of it.”
“This freight train is moving. Let’s just get out of the way and then we’re gonna have time.”
The Democratic strategist predicts that Republicans will soon find themselves unable to pass legislation without reaching across the aisle.
“It’s going to be easy pickings here in six weeks. Just lay back,” Carville stated confidently. “We’re in the midst of a collapse. It’s over.”
