What Pervy Red State Mayor’s Kids Told Cops About Teen Boy, Boozy Pool Party Will Shock You
A former Louisiana mayor is standing trial on rape charges after her own children took the stand against her, describing what they witnessed at an alcohol-fueled pool party involving a teenage boy.
Misty Roberts, 43, formerly served as mayor of DeRidder, Louisiana, a small city of approximately 9,800 residents located roughly 20 miles from the Texas border.
Roberts faces a charge of third-degree rape stemming from a 2024 incident involving a 16-year-old boy, TTOA previously reported.
Her son provided a recorded interview, played for jurors, in which he described looking through a window crack and seeing his mother engaged in a sexual act with one of his friends.
When questioned further during the trial, Roberts’ son stated he was not entirely certain what he witnessed that night, according to local outlet KPLC.
Roberts’ daughter also took the stand. During her interview with detectives, played for the jury, she said she observed her mother and the teenage boy “on top of each other” during the gathering.
A nephew of the former mayor testified as well, acknowledging he attempted to use his phone to observe what was occurring inside the room. He stated he was unsure whether he pressed record, and said that if he had, he never transmitted the footage to anyone.
All three witnesses who testified confirmed they did not observe the private areas of Roberts or the victim. Each noted, however, that the teenage boy was shirtless.
Photographs from the party were presented to the jury. The images showed minors holding alcoholic drinks. One photograph, which prosecutors described as lewd, depicted Roberts in a bikini at the party with the teenage victim looking up at her and smiling.
Text messages presented in court showed Roberts’ son messaging his mother the same night, expressing disbelief over what was unfolding. “He is seventeen,” the son wrote to Roberts. The boy was subsequently confirmed to be 16 years old, according to KPLC.
The messages also indicated that Roberts’ daughter was in tears over the incident that evening.
Following the alleged encounter, the victim’s mother contacted Roberts via text to ask whether there was any risk of pregnancy. Roberts replied that she was on birth control. Roberts then shared a screenshot of that exchange to a group chat with friends, who advised her to obtain Plan B, per the report.
A DoorDash delivery driver testified at trial that he brought an emergency contraceptive to Roberts’ home. He stated he recognized the residence from taking his own children trick-or-treating there.
Additional text messages entered into evidence showed Roberts asking her son in the days prior what types of alcohol he and other minors wanted for the party.
Days after law enforcement launched its investigation into the alleged crime, Roberts submitted her resignation as mayor of DeRidder.
Roberts has been charged with third-degree rape as well as contributing to the delinquency of juveniles.
