Woke Victoria’s Secret Hit with Surprise Loss – Stock Immediately Nosedives After Their New CEO Resigns
The “woke” movement appears to have infiltrated just about every major corporation in the country. And many of those companies saw historic drops in profits and market value in 2022.
American consumers often make it clear — they’re not on board, despite the agenda being front-and-center in virtually every form of advertising and entertainment.
Now, another major company is feeling the pain, and big changes are coming.
Victoria’s Secret was often under fire in the past for promoting “impossible” body types and shaming women into being unnaturally thin. This has been a common complaint for decades.
However, they not only responded to that complaint; they also gave in to the far-left and went even further down the woke path.
This resulted in the hiring of the corporation’s first male model, and the unveiling of their first plus-size model: TikTok influencer Remi Bader.
And while these may not be the reasons why, CNN has reported that new Victoria’s Secret CEO Amy Hauk is quitting. She only rose to her position just last year.
The company has struggled since the world learned that its founder, Leslie Wexner, had ties to Jeffrey Epstein. And when Hauk suddenly resigned, shares quickly dropped another 8 percent.
Hauk supported the hiring of Bader, calling it “empowering,” and said the hiring of the first male model “promoted mental health” among young adults.
Unfortunately, none of this has translated to higher profits — Victoria’s Secret was suffering through a 28% sales drop when they hired the male model.
Hauk presided over a marketing shift designed to cater more toward Gen Z customers, but it doesn’t appear they’ve been successful. Either that, or Gen Z just isn’t responding as expected.
The company’s overall sales have been all over the map since the start of the pandemic, but they’re expecting to see a drop of more than 7% this year.
While neither Hauk nor the company is likely to attribute this downward trajectory to the “woke” agenda, many Americans contend that bowing to the woke mob will continue to hurt them.
And with plenty of evidence to support the “go woke, go broke” theory, one wonders if Victoria’s Secret will try to reverse course to get back some customers.
