Zelensky-Trump Relationship Takes Jaw-Dropping Turn
Zelensky Will Return to US to Meet With Trump Following Oval Office Fiasco
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is ready for another conversation with President Donald Trump.
This report comes after the viral Oval Office clash between Zelenskyy, Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance, as TTOA previously reported.
The Ukrainian president now says he is willing to return to the White House to discuss “serious issues.” Following the Oval Office fiasco, Zelenskyy traveled to the U.K., where he was greeted by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
At the White House, Zelenskyy often interrupted his hosts and disagreed with diplomatic efforts to end the invasion of Russia in Ukraine.
The Ukrainian president appeared to threaten that the U.S. would “feel” the consequences of stopping aid to Ukraine, prompting Trump to react.
“You don’t know that. You don’t know that. Don’t tell us what we’re going to feel. We’re trying to solve a problem. Don’t tell us what we’re going to feel,” Trump replied.
The disagreements and heated discussion resulted in the rare earths minerals agreement not being signed.
Despite it all, Zelenskyy is open to a return.
On Sunday, the Ukrainian president said that if Trump invites him to have a “constructive dialogue,” he will return.
“We are worthy of an equal dialogue,” Zelensky said, adding that if the president offers a “constructive dialog, to solve real problems, for serious issues and real, decisive actions and answers — I will arrive.”
“I’m ready for any format of constructive relations with the US,” he went on.
Following their heated discussions at the White House on Friday, Trump released a statement saying that Zelenskyy “is not ready for peace,” Breitbart News reported.
“I have determined that President Zelenskyy is not ready for Peace if America is involved, because he feels our involvement gives him a big advantage in negotiations,” Trump said. “I don’t want advantage, I want PEACE. He disrespected the United States of America in its cherished Oval Office. He can come back when he is ready for Peace.”
As Resist the Mainstream previously reported, Zelenskyy refused to apologize to the president on multiple occasions.
In a Fox News interview, host Bret Baier asked the Ukrainian president if he felt the need to apologize for his behavior in the Oval Office.
“So, I’m not hearing from you, Mr. President, a thought that you owe the president an apology,” Baier asked.
“No, I respect president and I respect American people, and if — I don’t know if … I think that we have to be very open and very honest, and I’m not sure we did something bad,” Zelenskyy replied.
Baier initially told Zelenskyy that many Americans felt he disrespected the president and vice president.
“Do you think you did, and do you think you owe an apology to President Trump?” Baier asked.
“I’m very thankful to Americans for all your support. You did a lot,” Zelensky responded. “I’m thankful to President Trump and to Congress’s bipartisan support. And, I was always very thankful from all our people. You helped us a lot from the very beginning during three years of full-scale invasion. You helped us to survive.”
