The injuries raised immediate concerns among prison staff.
Epstein’s cellmate during the first incident was Nicholas Tartaglione, who stated he attempted to revive Epstein.
Prison authorities later cleared Tartaglione of any wrongdoing and transferred him to another cell before Epstein’s eventual death, according to the Daily Mail.
The documents reveal Epstein expressed direct fear about returning to his cell.
A psychological assessment recorded his statement that he felt anxious about going back to a location where he had sustained neck injuries without understanding how they occurred.
Two weeks before his death, psychiatric notes documented Epstein’s continued physical and psychological struggles.
He reported ongoing numbness in his right arm and neck, stating he could not make a fist with his hand.
In a particularly revealing assessment, Epstein compared himself to the autistic character from the film “Rain Man.”
He described extreme sensitivity to noise, recounting an incident where a continuously flushing toilet caused him such distress that he sat in a corner holding his ears for hours.
Epstein told evaluators he believed he might have something on the autism spectrum, noting his aversion to noise and his mathematical abilities as similar to characteristics depicted in the Hollywood film.
The documents contain an FBI tip submitted by Mark Epstein in February 2023.
The tip alleged that Jeffrey Epstein was murdered in his jail cell and suggested he was killed because he was about to name names.
The tip also claimed President Trump authorized the murder.
