After Speaker Johnson Makes 1 Mistake – GOP Leader Drops a Truth Bomb On Him
When Mike Johnson was chosen to become the next House speaker, Democrats panicked. They claimed he was a “MAGA” Republican who would be worse than Kevin McCarthy.
But it turns out their fears were unfounded, as Johnson seems to be rubber-stamping everything Joe Biden wants. He even helped pass a FISA renewal bill that is worse than the current law.
From The Post Millennial:
On Monday a congressional vote to move 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) bill to the Senate succeeded in the House with a vote of 259-128. The bill now goes to the Senate without any provision requiring warrants on the surveillance of Americans who are in communications with foreign actors.
FISA could be reauthorized, allowing Joe Biden to spy on Americans without a warrant. Worse still, this new version includes worse provisions that will grant the government the power to spy on Americans. Despite his promise to provide reform, Johnson paved the way for this to happen.
Now, a top Republican senator is calling out the House Speaker. And he is making a bold claim about him.
From Breitbart:
Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) said over the weekend Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson “completely changed” his principles after ascending to his position…Speaking with Fox News Sunday, Paul said Speaker Johnson betrayed some of the conservative values he previously espoused…
“As I see it now, I’m not so sure there’s a difference between Mike Johnson being in charge and the Democrats being in charge.”
Sen. Rand Paul accused Speaker Johnson of abandoning his conservative principles, once he became the Speaker. The senator pointed to several votes Johnson supported that helped get Democrat bills passed.
Johnson broke a tie to allow the FISA bill—without warrant requirements—to pass and head to the Senate. Paul also pointed out that Johnson voted for the spending package that did not provide border security, but more spending on Ukraine.
Sen. Paul blasted Johnson, saying he’s not sure if there is a “difference” between Johnson making the rules or the Democrats. He said the Republican leader “hasn’t held his ground” against the Democrats. Paul said he doesn’t “see a lot of difference” between what Johnson is doing and Democrats.
