Obama, Martha’s Vineyard Celebs Silent on Opening up Island Homes to Illegal Immigrants

Charity begins at home is a universal axiom that wealthy Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts, residents apparently do not subscribe to.

Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) sent two planes with 50 illegal aliens to the exclusive island community Wednesday, which stunned island residents. Within days, almost all of the newly arrived border jumpers had been bussed to a Cape Cod military base.

“States like Massachusetts, New York and California will better facilitate the care of these individuals who they have invited into our country by incentivizing illegal immigration through their designation as ‘sanctuary states’ and support for the Biden administration’s open border policies,” DeSantis spokeswoman Taryn Fenske said.

President Joe Biden and former President Barack Obama won commanding majorities of island voters in their respective presidential campaigns.

Yet, when the 50 illegal aliens landed at Martha’s Vineyard, a community tourism Twitter account called their arrival a “humanitarian crisis.”

Conservatives quickly criticized the various celebrities living on the island, many of whom voted for the current president and have large estates capable of comfortably housing the new arrivals.

“Obama’s compound alone – if cots, trailers and tents are installed – could easily house several thousand illegal migrants,” former Trump adviser Stephen Miller remarked on Twitter. “Americans, during actual natural disasters (not illegal immigration for economic benefit) have been forced to sleep in stadiums and makeshift FEMA shelters.”

Some island residents, including crime novelist Jane Chittick, called for Obama to share his compound to house the migrants. Chittick suggested the former president doesn’t care about the plight of the illegal aliens transported by Florida’s governor.

“I don’t think people like the Obamas with huge estates who live here in the summer will care (about the migrants),” Chittick told the New York Post. “I would love to see the Obamas open up their huge property and erect tents and look after all these people while they’re being processed.”

Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) chimed in on the subject of dealing with illegal aliens.

“National Guard sent to interdict 50 illegal immigrants who disturbed liberals’ golf games & Chardonnay at Martha’s Vineyard,” Cruz tweeted. “Biden does nothing to address 4.2 million illegal immigrants who have flooded small towns in Texas.”

“Biden doesn’t care.”
