‘Trans’ Actor Hammers Trump Over Passport Change
‘Trans’ Actor Slams Trump After His Passport Reflected His Biological Sex
Hunter Schafer, an actor from HBO’s Euphoria, expressed frustration after his passport was changed to reflect his biological sex, male, following an executive order signed by President Donald Trump. Schafer, a “transgender” individual, voiced his anger on social media, stating, “F**k this administration” in response to the change.
In a video posted to his platform, Schafer began by explaining that he had a “harsh reality check” when he received his updated passport. The actor claimed that President Trump had signed an executive order which defined gender as being strictly male or female, assigned at birth.
Schafer claimed that the term “assigned at birth” is often used by “transgender” activists as a way of challenging the idea that sex, or biological sex, is fixed and immutable. The phrase falsely claims that a person’s gender was incorrectly assigned at birth, reflecting a core belief within the “transgender” community that gender is not strictly tied to biological sex.
The actor went on to explain that, as a result of the executive order, the Bureau of Consular Affairs had put a hold on passport applications seeking to change gender markers. This freeze affected both renewals and new applications, preventing individuals from changing their gender markers to something other than the one listed at birth.
Schafer, initially skeptical, said that he didn’t believe the policy change would affect him until he saw it on his new passport. Upon receiving the document, Schafer noted that the gender marker had been changed to male, something he had not expected.
Describing the process of obtaining his new passport, Schafer recalled how, when he visited the federal passport agency in Los Angeles, the experience seemed typical at first. However, after filling out the application and specifying that he was female, he was shocked when he received his passport with a male designation.
Despite his frustration with the system, Schafer acknowledged his own privilege as a White, famous, and conventionally attractive “transgender” person. He recognized that he is able to navigate certain challenges that others in the “transgender” community may not face. Schafer’s acknowledgment of his privilege was notable, as he highlighted the importance of recognizing the broader issues affecting transgender people who may not have the same advantages.
Schafer further emphasized that, despite the change in his passport, the designation of “male” does not change his identity or his trans experience. He made it clear that he wasn’t concerned about the “M” on the passport but instead focused on the potential complications it could create.
He explained that the new passport would make life more difficult, particularly when traveling abroad. Schafer anticipated needing to disclose his transgender status to border control agents more frequently, something he described as inconvenient and uncomfortable.
The actor noted that while the new passport designation could complicate travel, it wouldn’t alter his identity. “It does make life a little harder,” he admitted, acknowledging the challenges that “transgender” individuals often face in navigating bureaucratic systems, per Breitbart News.
Schafer also reaffirmed his commitment to being an outspoken advocate for the “transgender” community. He stated that “transgender” people are beautiful and will continue to exist, no matter the challenges they face or the legal designations imposed upon them.
Ultimately, Schafer made it clear that no matter what a passport says, his identity as a “trans” person would remain unchanged. His final remark, “F**k this administration,” underlined his frustration with the Trump administration’s policies affecting transgender rights.
