Would-be Trump Assassin Bombshells Coming Next Week, President Says: ‘I Want to Find the Answers’

President Donald Trump has pledged to release a report next week containing new information about Thomas Matthew Crooks, the would-be assassin who shot him at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania last July.

During an interview with Fox News’ Peter Doocy, Trump expressed frustration over the lack of public information regarding Crooks, despite seven months passing since the assassination attempt.

“I want to find the answers,” Trump said. “We can no longer blame Biden. He should have released that a long time ago. So what they are, giving me a report next week some time. I do believe I’ll be releasing it. I want to release the report.”

The president also referenced Ryan Routh, another would-be assassin, when discussing suspicious circumstances surrounding both incidents.

“You had one who had three apps, two of which were foreign, supposedly, and who has the biggest white shoe law firm in Pennsylvania, even though they don’t live in a white shoe area. What’s that all about?” Trump remarked.

He continued with questions about Routh’s possessions: “The other one had 7 or 6 cell phones, and I don’t have 6 cell phones. Why would somebody have 6 cell phones? We’re going to be releasing a report on that soon, Peter.”

Trump met with FBI agents and law enforcement officials following the shooting in Butler. 

The Post Millennial (TPM) reported that sources revealed that this meeting included previously undisclosed information about Crooks. During this meeting, Trump sought answers about how the gunman managed to access the roof of a nearby building with an AR-15-style rifle, and whether investigators had found any foreign connections to the attack.

FBI agents reportedly told Trump they had accessed three foreign email accounts linked to Crooks after finding passwords stored on his computer. 

While investigators initially found no evidence suggesting others were involved in the attack, TTOA highlighted earlier this week that it is now believed that Crooks may have had an accomplice.

Private investigator Doug Hagmann said, “We don’t think he acted alone. This took a lot of coordination.”

He added, “In my view, Crooks was handled by more than one individual and he was used for this [assassination attempt]. And I wouldn’t preclude the possibility that there were people at the rally itself helping him.”

Rep. Mike Waltz (R-FL) notably emphasized this theory back in August, TTOA reported.

Hagmann reportedly leads a team of six investigators who have interviewed dozens of witnesses while examining evidence from the shooting scene. 

TPM further noted that at a press conference held the Thursday, Trump confirmed his discussions with the FBI about Crooks but offered few details, only stating that the FBI has “done a very good job.”

Trump has expressed suspicion about the foreign connections discovered on Crooks’ devices. 

“I say, when you have three apps and two of them are foreign, you had an FBI that wouldn’t report on it or say why, I would say that that could be suspicious,” he stated.

When addressing Routh, Trump praised law enforcement efforts while raising additional questions: “On the second assassin… and by the way, Secret Service did a great job… but on the second one he had six cell phones. That’s a lot of cell phones, and a couple of them had some strange markings on them, so I want to find out and I’d be willing to release it.”

The president indicated his commitment to transparency regarding these investigations, adding, “Maybe there’s a reason we shouldn’t… I would be very willing to release that. I want to see it myself.”
