After GOP Leader Betrays Trump – Donald Fires Back with the Perfect Reply
This week, Donald Trump released his presidential platform on abortion. With the ending of Roe v. Wade, states were given the power to decide if abortion will be legal. Democrats have used this major change to furiously campaign on the issue.
Donald Trump revealed he supports “Reagan era” loopholes for abortion. He also supports IVF and the states’ rights to define abortion law.
One of Trump’s strongest supporters in the Senate spoke out against his policy. Sen. Lindsey Graham said he disagreed with Trump’s views and wants the GOP to embrace a nationwide ban on abortions. The Republican nominee quickly responded to Graham.
From The Post Millennial:
“Senator Lindsey Graham is doing a great disservice to the Republican Party, and to our Country,” Trump said in his post…“…what he doesn’t understand, or perhaps he does, is the Radical Left Democrats, who are destroying our Country, will never approve anything that he or the Republicans want.”
“They love this Issue, and they want to keep it going for as long as Republicans will allow them to do so,” Trump added.
Donald Trump criticized Sen. Graham’s stance on abortion. The former president claimed Graham has repeatedly changed his views, from a 6-week abortion ban to a 15-week ban.
Trump went on to say that Graham isn’t recognizing how “Radical Left Democrats” are using the issue to advance their cause. He said Democrats will never approve what Republicans want, seeming to suggest a nationwide ban will never happen.
The former president then warned that Democrats want to keep the abortion issue going. Trump said that after Roe v. Wade was overturned “many good Republicans lost elections” because of this issue.
Democrats are using abortion as a major chip for 2024. They will go after vulnerable Republicans in swing states or districts who support full abortion bans. It is possible Democrats will win big this year, simply because most Americans don’t support a full ban.
It appears Trump is taking a much more moderate route than he has in the past. He seems to be trying to settle the abortion issue, once and for all, so Democrats can’t keep using it to win elections. His answer to Graham was far more measured than attacks he’s made against his opponents.
Perhaps he wants Graham to come over to his way of thinking, to make sure abortion is no longer a winning issue for Democrats.
But it remains to be seen how many pro-life Republicans agree with Trump’s policies.
