Anthony Fauci Issues Shocking Claim About Trump’s Injuries
Anthony Fauci Downplays Trump’s Gunshot Wounds Following Rally Shooting
Dr. Anthony Fauci, who spread many false claims about the COVID-19 pandemic, is now downplaying former President Donald Trump’s injuries during an assassination attempt on his life at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
The former president was grazed by a bullet and was seen bleeding heavily from his right ear. Fauci called such a wound “superficial.”
Notably, Fauci served as the former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases under the Trump and Biden administrations during the COVID-19 pandemic.
CNN host Wolf Blitzer asked Fauci about Trump’s injuries.
While referencing illegal immigration statistics on a chart, the former president was struck by a bullet that pierced his upper right ear. Thankfully, Trump tilted his head just before being impacted by the bullet and avoided being shot directly in the skull.
After being shot, Trump dove to the ground and was pounced on by Secret Service Agents. Just seconds later, the former president stood up and clenched his fist in the air, telling his supporters to “fight!”
Since the tragic incident, Trump has worn a bandage over his ear.
Despite the large amount of blood that the former president lost after he was grazed by the bullet, Fauci said he doesn’t believe his injuries are a big deal.
“I don’t think there is much more to it,” Fauci said.
“I mean, from what we’ve seen and what we’ve heard, it was a bullet shot that grazed his ear and injured his ear, according to the physicians who examined him. There was no further damage.”

Fauci said he believes Trump is “in the clear,” citing his physician report and seeing the former president’s actions since the shooting, including attending all four days of the RNC in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he delivered an inspirational 92-minute speech.
“It seems to have been a superficial wound to the ear, and that’s all,” Fauci said.
In contrast to Fauci’s assessment, CNN medical correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta said the former president could be dealing with “psychological trauma” after the assassination attempt that killed one of his supporters and injured two others.
Gupta believes there should be a “full public assessment” of Trump’s injuries to let Americans know about the former president’s condition.
“The concern is that gunshot blasts near the head can cause injuries that aren’t immediately noticeable, such as bleeding in or on the brain, damage to the inner ear, or even psychological trauma,” Gupta, who is a trauma neurosurgeon, said.
Gupta said a “thorough evaluation” after the wound could make it easier to spot the physical and mental injuries and help speed up recovery.
“The good news is that most physical symptoms of an injury would probably have revealed themselves over the past few days,” Gupta concluded. “At this point, however, the Trump campaign hasn’t yet shared whether a full workup was done at the time or if there has been any follow-up since.”
While speaking at the RNC, Trump recalled the tragic assassination attempt on his life and said he would only talk about it once because it was “too painful.”
