Days After Unprecedented Security Failure – GOP Senator Demands Firing of Top Biden Official

A terrorist attack against Israel has plunged the nation into war. Over the last week, Israel has been at war with Hamas. The terror group is responsible for the worst attack on Jews since the Holocaust.

Many leaders have been asking an obvious question. How did Hamas–with the help of Iran and others–get away with this attack? How did U.S. intelligence and others fail to detect this plot–which reportedly was in the works for two years?

Republicans are accusing Biden of a major intelligence failure. And now, one Republican senator is making a major demand.

From Breitbart:
Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) is calling on President Joe Biden, in a letter exclusively obtained by Breitbart News, to terminate National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan following Hamas’s terrorist attacks on Israel.

In a statement to Breitbart News, Blackburn pointed out, “Just days before Hamas launched their violent surprise attack against Israel, President Biden’s National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan told us that ‘the Middle East is quieter today than it has been in two decades.’”

Republican Sen. Blackburn is calling for the White House to fire National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan. She has accused Sullivan of failing to detect the Hamas attack. Blackburn even claimed Sullivan “has routinely misled the entire government about the status of security threats around the world.”

The senator cited a moment from a few days before the attacks, where Sullivan claimed the Middle East was “quieter today than it has been for two decades.” Not long after that, Hamas staged its horrific attack.

Blackburn claims Sullivan’s failure to learn of the attack was not a mistake but “the same poor judgment that gave us a disastrous Iran nuclear deal in 2015 and helped botch the Afghanistan withdrawal, leaving it in the hands of the Taliban.”

It’s unclear whether the White House will heed Blackburn’s call. It might require a larger investigation by congressional leaders to uncover the failures that led to the attack. There are over a dozen intelligence agencies within the federal government.

How these groups did not have intel on the impending attack is a subject lawmakers will most certainly explore.
