Democrat Congressman Freezes On House Floor, Reboots After One Minute
Another sitting member of Congress has just frozen up, and this time it’s not Mitch McConnell, although it felt almost like a carbon copy.
Rep. John Larson (D-CT) appeared to have a medical episode while speaking on the House floor Monday afternoon.
The 76-year-old representative literally froze in the middle of his speech.
Watch here:
A few things immediately jumped out to me.
First is that he seems to be having an issue with the left side of his face. I’m no doctor, but that combined with the long and sudden pause seems to suggest a possible stroke or mini-stroke. Very scary.
The second thing that jumped out at me is the room appears to be almost entirely empty.
It’s no wonder Congress is a disaster….
In addition to the massive fraud, waste and abuse, we appear to have members of Congress speaking to entirely empty rooms.
What purpose is this serving?
This is just pure nonsense.
Is it just so he can get a few soundbites to use in his re-election campaign?
The big tough guy in Congress ranting and raving about those bad Republicans, except….no one is even there to listen?
What an embarrassment!
The third thing that jumped out at me is how eerily similar this is to the Mitch McConnell incidents.
I don’t mean to make light of a medical episode at all, but if you are so old and your health is so bad that you literally “freeze” in place for over a minute, you may not be fit to continue serving in Congress. Is that a reasonable thing we can all agree on?
You know that commercial from the Super Bowl where they had to replace Tom Brady’s batteries? That’s kind of what this feels like. Almost like this guy’s battery just ran out and he slowly just shuts down and freezes in place.
Did he power back on after a minute because someone plugged a USB-C cable into his back or something?
Did he freeze up because he was downloading new instructions from his masters?
Good grief this thing is weird!
The New York Post had more details on the incident:
The 76-year-old Democrat from Connecticut was in the middle of giving a speech on the House floor about concerns over Social Security after the Trump administration recently granted Elon Musk access to sensitive payment information through the US Treasury Department.
He suddenly came to a complete halt midway through what was supposed to be a five-minute speech, freezing as he seemingly choked on his words.
“Don’t worry, no one on the Republican side of the House and US Senate who control both the House and Senate is going to speak up—,” Larson said before he abruptly cut himself off, freezing as he stared dead ahead and tried to get his bearings.
“And challenge us…,” Larson slowly continued, his words slurring slightly. “But we need to … protect Americans’ privacy and … their Social Security.”
According to NBC Connecticut, Larson likely suffered an ‘adverse reaction’ to new medication.

Per NBC Connecticut:
A spokesperson said Larson likely had an adverse reaction to new medication. He had tests administered by the House attending physician out of an abundance of caution.
Larson later participated in multiple meetings in his office, and he was engaged and alert, according to the spokesperson.
“The Congressman remains in touch with his staff and [is] in good spirits,” his team said.
The whole thing felt eerily similar to. this:
Mitch McConnell stopped speaking and froze at the podium today.

…he had to be physically walked back behind closed doors.

NBC News has also confirmed the event:
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell suddenly stopped speaking during a weekly Republican leadership news conference on Wednesday afternoon, appearing to freeze, and then went silent and was walked away.
McConnell, R-Ky., had been making his opening remarks when he stopped talking. His Republican colleagues asked if he was OK, and Sen. John Barrasso of Wyoming escorted McConnell away from the cameras and reporters.
Sen. Joni Ernst of Iowa made a sign of the cross as if she was praying for McConnell.
A few minutes later, McConnell walked back to the news conference by himself. When asked about his health, he said he was fine.
McConnell’s office didn’t immediately return a request for comment.

It wasn’t the first time the Pelosi-bot has malfunctioned on live TV.

This clip had been banned from YouTube and I thought it was lost forever until I finally just discovered it again today.
This is the infamous and absolutely classic moment when Nancy Pelosi went on live TV and malfunctioned.
She appeared to “restart” midway through the interview.
“Good morning…..
