DOGE Announces the Next Target on the Chopping Block to Slash Spending

DOGE has now finished its audit on the USAID program and it’s getting ready for the next target. Now, Republicans in Congress are taking aim at one of the biggest taxpayer-funded disasters of the Biden era: the USPS EV fleet boondoggle. Enter the “Return to Sender Act,” a new bill introduced by Sen. Joni Ernst (R-IA) and Rep. Michael Cloud (R-TX), which seeks to claw back $3 billion wasted on this failed green energy experiment. And let’s be clear—this isn’t just about waste; it’s about Washington’s obsession with forcing an EV agenda that Americans didn’t ask for and can’t afford.

Let’s rewind for a second. The Biden team, in its infinite wisdom, decided that the financially struggling U.S. Postal Service should take the lead in America’s EV revolution. (Because obviously, when you think of cutting-edge innovation, you think of the same government agency that can’t deliver a letter on time.) The idea was simple: spend billions on electric mail trucks and pretend it’s about saving the planet. The reality? It’s been an absolute disaster.

The contract was handed to defense contractor Oshkosh, which was supposed to build 60,000 Next Generation Delivery Vehicles (NGDVs). But by November of last year, instead of the expected 3,000 vehicles, they had managed to deliver… 93. That’s right—93 trucks for $3 billion. I guess you could say Biden’s green agenda is running on empty—literally.

To make matters worse, the few vehicles that did roll off the assembly line turned out to be defective, overpriced, and riddled with delays. Even some of the workers building these trucks admitted, “We don’t know how to build a damn truck.” Now, I don’t know about you, but when the people responsible for making these things are openly admitting they have no clue what they’re doing, that’s probably a sign it’s time to cut the funding.

President Trump—now back in office cleaning up yet another Biden mess—has made it clear that he won’t let these kinds of government handouts continue. This bill, if passed, would pull the plug on the remaining unspent funds, ensuring that American taxpayers aren’t left holding the bag for another failed liberal experiment.

The left, of course, is already scrambling to defend the USPS EV plan, with Postal Service officials insisting everything is “on track.” Sure, just like Biden’s approval rating was “on track” before Trump won in a landslide.

With a Republican-controlled House and a much stronger Senate majority, this bill has a real shot at passing. The days of taxpayer-funded climate scams are over. It’s time to return this mess to sender.
