Melania Trump Misses Mar-a-Lago Celebration To Spend Christmas With Ailing Mother: Report

We previously reported that Melania Trump’s absence from a family Christmas photo has set social media channels ablaze with speculation.

Page Six reported a Trump spokesperson attempted to allay concerns by noting that Donald and Melania’s marriage was strong.

The outlet also reported the former first lady would “step up her public appearances” in 2024 to “support her husband’s bid to be re-elected president.”

The photo that sparked concern was posted by Kimberly Guilfoyle, the fiancée of Donald Trump Jr. The photo profiled the Trump family gathered in front of a Christmas tree at a holiday celebration.

Donald Trump, Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner, the Kushners’ children, Kimberly Guilfoyle, Donald Trump Jr., Barron Trump, Ivanka’s half-sister Tiffany and her husband Michael Boulos were featured in the photo.

Notably absent in the photo was Melania Trump, 53.  A Trump spokesperson initially stated that Melania was “tending to a family matter.”

Fox News reported that Melania’s absence from the family Christmas gathering (and photo) was due to her caring for her “ailing mother.”

A post by Liberty Lions noted that Melania’s mother, Amalija Knavs, is hospitalized and “very sick.”

A source revealed to Fox News Digital: “Melania has always been very devoted to her entire family. It should be no surprise that she spent this Christmas with her ailing mother.”

In a previous interview with Fox News, Melania noted that she supports her husband’s presidential bid and looks forward to “restoring hope for the future and leading America with love and strength.”

Melania added that it would be a “privilege” to serve as first lady again.

When Donald Trump served as the 45th president of the United States, Melania hosted virtual roundtables on foster care. Many commended her work to bring reforms to the child welfare system and her work with congressional representatives to provide grants to assist young people who spent time in the foster care system to secure a college education.

Melania has quietly continued her work to support foster care staff and clients since leaving the White House.

Slowly moving back into the spotlight as more and more it appears her husband with be the GOP presidential nominee, in early December Melania spoke at a citizenship event at the National Archives Rotunda.

During the event, Melania spoke of the responsibilities associated with American citizenship as 25 people from 25 nations were sworn in as citizens.
