Nikki Haley Makes Big Announcement Ahead Of South Carolina Primary

SHARE

Nikki Haley spoke in her home state of South Carolina today in the upstate town of Greenville, South Carolina.

Many were expecting Nikki Haley to announce exiting the Republican primary race.

However, many were surprised to learn that she said, “some of you—perhaps a few of you in the media—came here today to see if I’m dropping out of the race. Well, I’m not. Far from it.”

Many have begun to speculate that Nikki Haley enjoys losing.

The folks at Fox News share more:

But Haley, the former two-term South Carolina governor who later served as U.N. ambassador in the Trump administration, on Tuesday said in a major speech in this Upstate South Carolina city that “some of you—perhaps a few of you in the media—came here today to see if I’m dropping out of the race. Well, I’m not. Far from it.”

“I refuse to quit. South Carolina will vote on Saturday. But on Sunday, I’ll still be running for president. I’m not going anywhere,” Haley emphasized.

And she added that “I have no fear of Trump’s retribution.”

But the Trump campaign memo forecasts an “a—kicking in the making in South Carolina” for Haley, and that “the end is near” for her presidential run due to “a very serious math problem” she has in the race to lock up enough delegates to win the GOP nomination.

Looking ahead to next month, when nearly 800 delegates are up for grabs on Super Tuesday as 15 states hold Republican presidential contests on March 5, with over 150 at stake over the following two weeks, the Trump campaign predicted the former president would secure the nomination on March 19, even under a “most-generous model” for Haley.

If I’m being honest, I forgot that the Republican primary was still going on.

Nikki Haley needs to retain her little dignity and drop out of the race.

CNN shares more on the story:

Polls consistently show Haley trailing Trump in South Carolina by a considerable margin. According to the latest new CBS/YouGov survey, Trump leads Haley among likely voters in South Carolina’s upcoming Republican primary, 65% to 30%. Those results echo previous Monmouth University-Washington Post polling, which also found Trump taking majority support.

Haley made her case for staying in the race by pointing to a number of factors, including her view that some politicians who embrace Trump publicly “privately dread him.”

“Look, I get it. In politics, the herd mentality is enormously strong. A lot of Republican politicians have surrendered to it… Of course, many of the same politicians who now publicly embrace Trump privately dread him. They know what a disaster he’s been and will continue to be for our party. They’re just too afraid to say it out loud,” Haley said.

But Haley did not lay out how she could clinch enough delegates to win the nomination. Instead, Haley again argued Americans have a “right to have their voices heard,” adding “we don’t anoint kings in the country.”

Nikki Haley is delusional for believing she can unite the Republicans against Joe Biden.

She is just waiting for President Trump’s time and money trying to prove some point.
