Report Alleges President Trump Will Issue Declaration Recognizing Palestinian State
According to The Jerusalem Post, a Gulf diplomatic source said President Trump will “issue a declaration regarding the State of Palestine and American recognition of it, and that there will be the establishment of a Palestinian state without the presence of Hamas.”
“If an announcement of American recognition of the State of Palestine is made, it will be the most important declaration that will change the balance of power in the Middle East, and more countries will join the Abraham Accords,” the source added, according to the outlet.

A Gulf diplomatic source has stated that President Trump will soon issue a declaration regarding American recognition of Palestine.
This comes amid strained relations between Trump and Netanyahu due to the Israeli prime minister’s attempts to sabotage American nuclear negotiations with Iran.
President Trump will visit the Middle East this month, where Saudi Arabia will host a Gulf-U.S. Summit in mid-May.
All Gulf leaders are scheduled to participate in the summit.
From The Jerusalem Post:
The source confirmed that economic agreements will certainly be present, but many of them have already been announced, and we may witness the Gulf states being exempted from tariffs.
Ahmed Al-Ibrahim, a former Gulf diplomat, told The Media Line, “I don’t expect it to be about Palestine. Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and King Abdullah II of Jordan have not been invited. They are the two countries closest to Palestine, and it would be important for them to be present at any event like this.”
Al-Ibrahim also said, “There will be major deals coming, perhaps similar to what happened at the 2017 Gulf-US summit, with Saudi deals worth more than $400 billion. Let’s not forget that the UAE announced investments in the US worth more than $1 trillion, and Saudi Arabia announced investments worth more than $600 billion.”
He continued, “This is clear because President Donald Trump intends to visit the UAE and Qatar after concluding his visit to Saudi Arabia. These are two important economies with significant financial resources and major investments in the United States.”
Ahmed Boushouki, a Saudi political analyst, told The Media Line, “This is about major economic deals that will take place in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Perhaps US President Donald Trump hinted at this when he told the American people to ‘buy stocks now, before his big announcement in the next two days.’”
Mike Huckabee, United States Ambassador to Israel, said the report claiming Trump would recognize a Palestinian state is “nonsense.”
“Hmm. @Jerusalem_Post needs better sources than this unidentified ‘source.’ My 4 yr old grandson Teddy is more reliable. And take it from Teddy. This report is nonsense. @Israel doesn’t have a better friend than @POTUS!” Huckabee said.

Per Axios:
President Trump met Israeli Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer, a close confidant of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, on Thursday and discussed the nuclear talks with Iran and the war in Gaza, according to two sources briefed on the meeting.
The meeting at the White House, which was not made public by the U.S. or Israel, took place ahead of the fourth round of nuclear talks between the U.S and Iran on Sunday in Muscat and President Trump’s trip to the Middle East starting on Monday.
Trump will visit Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the UAE on this trip but will skip Israel.
The meeting is somewhat unusual in that presidents don’t typically meet with foreign officials who are not the head of state or government.
It took place two days after Netanyahu and his team were blindsided by Trump’s announcement of a truce with the Houthis, exposing the gaps in trust and coordination between the administrations.
The announcement came shortly after Israel had carried out strikes on a major port and airport in Yemen in response to a Houthi attack on Tel Aviv’s international airport. The Israelis were alarmed that Trump’s ceasefire didn’t apply to attacks on Israel.
“We were shocked that the Trump administration didn’t tell us anything and we learned about it from the television,” one Israeli official told Axios.
The episode raised concerns about the likely limits of Israel’s influence on the U.S. approach to nuclear talks with Iran. Netanyahu is skeptical of diplomacy and wants Trump to consider a military option.
