State Supreme Court Rules 4-3 On Voter ID – They Decide Constitutional Amendment Challenge Can Continue in NC

With the midterms around the corner, Democrats are looking for any chance they can get it. But that doesn’t include winning over voters but eliminating anything that keeps the playing field level.

They have tried to take down a law out of one state that requires voter ID. And now, the state’s liberal Supreme Court is allowing the challenge to continue.

From Conservative Brief:

Now, the state supreme court voted 4-3 and agreed with a central argument the North Carolina NAACP made in its challenge to the constitutional amendments, keeping alive the case against voter ID…

Republican lawmakers say the state’s Democratic Attorney General John Stein is not properly defending the law from legal challenges brought by the NAACP and other groups who claim it violates the Constitution and the Voting Rights Act.

So, the people of North Carolina voted to make voter ID legal in the state. Right on cue, Democrats rushed to the courts to invalidate the will of the people.

Liberal judges tried to block this requirement last year. But the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that state legislatures can intervene and defend the law.

Now, the North Carolina liberal-leaning Supreme Court ruled alongside the NAACP. This opens the door to further challenges to voter ID, based on some shaky grounds.

Democrats claim that voter ID is unconstitutional because it “targets” black voters.

Really? What does that mean? Do Democrats have such a low opinion of black voters that they think they can’t acquire IDs?

Obviously, that’s a lie. Americans need a photo ID to do almost anything in our society, including driving a car.

But voter ID makes it very hard for someone to vote under the name of someone else. Keep in mind, that most states do a very poor job of cleaning up voter rolls.

Recent audits revealed that deceased Americans remain on voter rolls years after they passed. Leaving Americans wondering if people are voting under someone else’s name.

Isn’t it convenient that Democrats are fighting the very law that can make our elections safe?

And they are using a racial argument that stokes deep angst among Americans, so people can’t have a reasonable conversation about it.

Par for the course.

Key Takeaways:

  • NC’s liberal Supreme Court ruled in favor of Democrats over a voter ID battle.
  • The decision will allow lower courts to further challenge the law.
  • Democrats have long opposed voter ID, which protects against fraud.
