Trump Directs Pam Bondi to Pursue Legal Action Against Attorneys Who File ‘Frivolous’ Lawsuits Against His Admin

President Donald Trump has ordered U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi to take legal action against attorneys and law firms that file what he calls “frivolous” lawsuits against his administration.

Trump cited legal rules prohibiting lawyers from submitting cases that aim to “harass” or “cause unnecessary delay” and asked Bondi to explore further steps to counter these tactics.

“Far too many attorneys and law firms have ignored these requirements when suing the federal government or pursuing baseless partisan attacks,” Trump stated in a memorandum released by the White House.

“I am directing the Attorney General to seek penalties against lawyers and firms engaging in frivolous, unreasonable, and vexatious litigation against the United States.”

Since late January, Trump’s administration has faced more than 100 lawsuits challenging his policies.

The Justice Department, under Bondi’s leadership, has defended the administration’s executive orders against repeated legal challenges.

In February alone, courts issued 15 injunctions blocking Trump’s policies, far exceeding the number of judicial obstacles placed on former Presidents Obama and Biden, as the New York Post reported.

Some of the blocked measures include Trump’s executive order ending birthright citizenship and his directive using wartime authority to deport Venezuelan criminals.

Trump’s legal team has petitioned the U.S. Supreme Court to intervene, arguing that lower courts should have less power to issue injunctions against executive actions.

The president’s directive instructs Bondi to review litigation against the federal government over the past eight years, including cases from his first term.

Trump has also asked for recommendations on additional measures, such as reassessing security clearances for law firms and cutting off government contracts with firms involved in excessive litigation.

His memorandum specifically referenced the Elias Law Group, citing its involvement in the Clinton campaign’s solicitation of the discredited Steele dossier.

“Law firms and attorneys have great power and an obligation to uphold the rule of law, justice, and order,” Trump emphasized.

Since returning to office, Trump has sought to limit the influence of left-leaning law firms that have aggressively targeted his administration in court.

Recently, Paul Weiss, a firm known for working with Democratic clients, was forced to offer $40 million in free legal services to the federal government to avoid an executive order that would have restricted its access to federal cases.

Another major firm, Perkins Coie, which played a role in the Steele dossier’s funding, won a temporary restraining order against Trump’s directive barring its attorneys from interacting with federal agencies.

Trump’s efforts to crack down on legal opposition come as he continues to face legal challenges from firms and attorneys with ties to Democratic politicians.

His administration maintains that these lawsuits are politically motivated and designed to obstruct his policies rather than pursue legitimate legal claims.
