Viral Kirk Tweet Tragically Becomes Most Eerie
Conservative political activist and co-founder of Turning Point USA Charlie Kirk was killed Wednesday after being shot at an event at Utah Valley University. He was 31.
Kirk, himself a college dropout, was influential with college students and young voters — not only in helping to elect Trump to the presidency but also to inspire a new movement of conservative activists.
He frequently traveled to college campuses, speaking and taking questions from audience members in exchanges that often led to viral videos.
X users quickly highlighted in the aftermath of the tragedy that Kirk had warned of “assassination culture,” a growing left-wing appetite for violence months before he was killed.
Kirk posted back in April, “Assassination culture is spreading on the left.”
“Forty-eight percent of liberals say it would be at least somewhat justified to murder Elon Musk. Fifty-five percent said the same about Donald Trump.”
The now eerie post in retrospect continued, “In California, activists are naming ballot measures after Luigi Mangione.”
“The left is being whipped into a violent frenzy. Any setback, whether losing an election or losing a court case, justifies a maximally violent response.”
“This is the natural outgrowth of left-wing protest culture tolerating violence and mayhem for years on end,” Kirk added.
“The cowardice of local prosecutors and school officials have turned the left into a ticking time bomb.”
Kirk’s now once again viral X post referred to a report from Network Contagion Research Institute (NCRI) which polled Americans on their attitudes towards assassination.

President Donald Trump addressed the assassination of Kirk from the Oval Office Wednesday night.
The president called Kirk “a man of deep faith,” then warned that “for years, the radical left has compared wonderful Americans like Charlie to Nazis.”
“This type of language is directly responsible for the terrorism we’re seeing in our country today,” the president continued. “And it must stop RIGHT NOW!”
His message included a fiery promise: “My administration will find each and every one of those who contributed to this atrocity and to other political violence, including the organizations that fund it and support it, as well as those who go after our judges, law enforcement officials and everyone else who brings order to our country.”
FBI Director Kash Patel had confirmed on X earlier that a second suspect in the fatal shooting was in custody, however, the Daily Mail has reported that that person has been released.
Officials have nevertheless promised to provide updates as the investigation continues and law enforcement is urging anyone with information related to the shooting to come forward as the investigation remains active.
Kirk is survived by his wife, Erika Frantzve, a former Miss Arizona USA and podcast host, and their two young children.
He was known for his outspoken Christian faith and conservative advocacy, particularly among young voters, and founded Turning Point USA at the age of 18.
Kirk also hosted a widely downloaded podcast and was appointed by President Trump in 2020 to a commission on “patriotic education.”
