Trump Pauses all US Military Aid to Ukraine, Issues Fiery Ultimatum: Report

President Donald Trump has suspended all military aid to Ukraine following a contentious Oval Office meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that ended abruptly on Friday.

This dramatic shift in policy threatens to reshape the geopolitical landscape as the war with Russia enters its fourth year.

Trump is reviewing future assistance to ensure it contributes to a solution and wants Zelensky “committed” to reaching a peace deal to end the three-year conflict initiated by Russia’s invasion, according to a White House official speaking anonymously, per the Daily Mail

All military equipment not currently in Ukraine will be halted, with future aid now uncertain.

“The only President who gave none of Ukraine’s land to Putin’s Russia is President Donald J. Trump,” the president declared on Truth Social following criticism of his handling of Zelensky.

“Remember that when the weak and ineffective Democrat’s criticize, and the Fake News gladly puts out anything they say!”

National Security Advisor Mike Waltz emphasized on Fox News Channel’s “America’s Newsroom” that American support for Ukraine has limits.

“The American people’s patience is not unlimited, their wallets are not unlimited and our stockpiles and munitions are not unlimited,” Waltz stated. “The time to talk is now.”

Waltz criticized Zelensky for failing to demonstrate willingness to negotiate peace terms with the United States and Russia.

“Success looks like President Zelensky sitting down and talking the terms of peace… what became so evident to us in that session is he’s not ready to talk peace at all but here’s the problem: Time is not on his side,” he said.

The meeting reportedly deteriorated when Vice President JD Vance discussed the importance of allowing Trump to engage in diplomacy with Russia.

Zelensky challenged Vance, asking, “What kind of diplomacy, JD, you are speaking about? What do you mean?”

Vance responded, “I’m talking about the kind of diplomacy that’s going to end the destruction of your country, Mr. President,” before accusing Zelensky of disrespecting Trump by voicing opposition to a peace deal in front of American media.

Following the tense exchange, Daily Mail reported that Trump instructed Zelensky to leave, canceling their planned lunch, a mineral deal agreement signing and a celebratory press conference.

Trump later wrote on social media that Zelensky “can come back when he is ready for Peace.”

Pete Hegseth has been tasked with implementing the aid pause, according to the White House official.

The decision comes at a critical juncture in the conflict, with Ukrainian forces struggling to maintain defensive positions across multiple frontlines against advancing Russian troops.

Daily Mail highlighted that after the failed meeting with Trump, Zelensky made an emergency trip to London, meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and European leaders who reaffirmed their support for Ukraine.

Starmer pledged that “The U.K. is prepared to back this with boots on the ground and planes in the air, together with others,” adding that “Europe must do the heavy lifting, but to support peace in our continent and to succeed, this effort must have strong U.S. backing.”

The stark contrast between American and European approaches highlights the growing divergence in Western strategy toward the conflict. European nations appear to be preparing to increase their involvement precisely as the United States pulls back.

Waltz characterized Zelensky’s behavior during the meeting as “really confounding” and suggested the Ukrainian leader “truly did his country a real disservice by not having a positive outcome on Friday.”

He warned that Ukraine’s position is weakening as the conflict drags on, implying that Zelensky should seize this opportunity to negotiate before conditions worsen further.

The New York Times reported that Trump had planned to meet with senior advisors on Monday to discuss Ukraine aid’s future, with sources suggesting this review could lead to a permanent restructuring of U.S. support.
