New AG Drops Major Bombshell as First Day Orders Revealed
AG Pam Bondi Slashes Federal Funds to Sanctuary Cities in Bold First Day Move
Newly sworn-in U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi wasted no time in enforcing President Donald Trump’s policies, taking immediate action on her first day in office to address illegal immigration and sanctuary cities across the nation.
Bondi directed the Department of Justice (DOJ) to halt all federal funding to sanctuary cities on Wednesday, a move aimed at tackling what she sees as a growing challenge to federal law enforcement.

Bondi, who was confirmed on Tuesday, tasked the DOJ with identifying and evaluating all funding agreements with non-governmental organizations (NGOs) that provide support to illegal immigrants, according to memos obtained by Fox News.
NGOs, such as Catholic Charities of San Antonio, have reportedly spent millions of dollars accommodating illegal immigrants, according to the Border Report.
The Attorney General’s office will also focus on investigating jurisdictions that hinder federal immigration enforcement, with the potential for prosecution where necessary.
There are roughly 220 sanctuary cities in the U.S., which, according to the Center for Immigration Studies, have resisted cooperation with federal immigration authorities. Bondi’s directive is part of a broader strategy to address this issue, reinforcing her commitment to upholding immigration laws and holding local governments accountable.
The Trump administration has targeted illegal immigration since day one, with ICE conducting several raids across the U.S., which has resulted in the arrest and detention of thousands of violent illegal immigrants.
In a statement, Bondi reiterated her commitment to working with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to “completely eliminate” transnational criminal organizations and drug cartels, which are recognized by the U.S. government as foreign terrorist organizations.
This directive aligns with Trump’s executive orders aimed at combating illegal immigration and the cartels that fuel violence along the southern border.

Bondi’s directives extend to managing the DOJ’s legal operations, particularly addressing what she views as the weaponization of the legal system. A key focus of her approach is ensuring that DOJ attorneys vigorously defend presidential policies.
Bondi emphasized that DOJ attorneys must refrain from inserting their personal political views into their work, warning that failure to comply could result in discipline or termination.
“It undermines the constitutional order and deprives the President of the benefit of his lawyers,” the memo stated, outlining the consequences for DOJ employees who fail to uphold their duties. Bondi’s stance reflects a tough approach both to immigration enforcement and the integrity of the Justice Department under her leadership.
These directives lay the groundwork for a more forceful effort to curb the influence of sanctuary cities such as Denver, Chicago and New York, which have long been at the center of the U.S. immigration policy debate.
The move follows a growing backlash against Trump’s immigration policies, with several liberal politicians openly opposing his administration’s stance.
This conflict over immigration enforcement has also been highlighted by New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy, who recently came under fire for disclosing in an int8erview that he is housing an immigrant with an uncertain legal status. Murphy’s admission was seen as a direct challenge to federal immigration enforcement protocols.
