After New York Defies Supreme Court Ruling – A Federal Judge Drops the Hammer, Blocks Unconstitutional Law

The Supreme Court has been standing up to deep-blue states this year. It recently overturned a freedom-infringing law out of New York, restoring a major right to residents.

But almost immediately, the far-left governor conspired with state Democrats to pass an even worse law. You don’t have to be a legal expert to see how the state was openly defying the highest court in the land.

So, a federal court just hammered this left-wing law.

A federal judge in New York blocked much of the state’s restrictive concealed carry law passed earlier this year.

In a lawsuit brought by a group of New York state gun owners, Northern District of New York Judge Glenn T. Suddaby ruled Thursday that much of the state’s “Concealed Carry Improvement Act” violates the Supreme Court’s orders in NY State Rifle and Pistol Association v. Bruen, and by extension, the Second Amendment rights of New Yorkers.

Woah, this is a massive blow to New York’s (and other states’) attempts at shutting down the Second Amendment.

The Supreme Court ruling struck down a New York law that made it nearly impossible for a resident to acquire a concealed carry permit.

The court’s decision ended the state’s stonewalling of permit requests. Which would have resulted in many law-abiding New Yorkers getting concealed carry permits (and being much safe).

Gov. Hochul and the Democrat-controlled state legislature rushed out a new version of their law, essentially making every corner of the state a “gun-free zone.”

That appeared to be a clear violation of the Supreme Court’s decision, which upheld the gun rights of Americans.

This federal court overturned most of this new law and has given New York state officials just three days to respond.

Among the many restrictions the court struck down, it blocked the state’s attempt at banning firearms in most public places, including on public transportation and venues.

The court also is allowing people to carry firearms at places of worship if they have been “takes with the duty to keep the peace.”

If New York Democrats had their way, worshippers would have been sitting ducks should a gunman open fire.

This is a major setback for gun control-loving Democrats and could signal a major shift across the country.
