Andrew Cuomo Endorses Harris Then Slams Progressive Politics Including the ‘Three Dumbest Words Ever Uttered’

Ex-New York Governor Andrew Cuomo delivered a blistering critique of progressive policies during a recent address at Bedford Central Presbyterian Church in Brooklyn.

The once-celebrated Democrat’s unexpected pivot has sent shockwaves through political circles, leaving many wondering about the future direction of the party.

He specifically targeted the “Defund the police” movement, calling it “the three dumbest words ever uttered in politics.”

Cuomo kicked off his speech by throwing his support behind Vice President Kamala Harris for the upcoming presidential election, Fox News reported.

He praised her as “smart and qualified,” predicting she would “unite the Democrats” and “bring new energy” to the race.

The former governor emphasized the importance of preventing a return to the Trump era, stating, “We’re not going back there again.”

Cuomo quickly pivoted to a more contentious stance, however.

He argued that Harris’s potential ascension to the presidency wouldn’t be a cure-all for the nation’s problems.

He asserted that the government “isn’t working for people on a very basic level” and launched into a scathing rebuke of progressive politics that lasted nearly six minutes.

Fox highlighted that the former governor didn’t mince words when addressing the current state of affairs, declaring, “Things are getting worse, not better.”

He called for a fresh perspective on the issues facing the country, challenging the very notion of progressivism within the Democratic Party.

Cuomo took aim at what he perceives as a misguided competition among Democrats to claim the mantle of most progressive.

“Today, we have a great political argument on the Democratic side: Who is more progressive?” he remarked.

“I don’t even think they know what the word means, progressive. You cannot be a progressive if you don’t make progress.”

In a statement sure to ruffle feathers within his party, Cuomo boldly claimed that the United States was “going backwards” due to progressive policies.

While acknowledging the theoretical basis for the “defund the police” movement, Cuomo insisted that the reality is far more complex.

The former governor also waded into the contentious issue of immigration, focusing on the challenges faced by New York City.

He criticized the lack of a comprehensive plan to address the influx of migrants, stating, “We can’t just have 100,000 migrants coming into New York City and only New York City.”

Cuomo highlighted the financial burden placed on the city, citing costs exceeding $10 billion for housing and healthcare.

As he concluded his remarks, Cuomo urged voters to look beyond party labels and focus on substantive issues in the upcoming election.

He emphasized the importance of selecting candidates who will “help you and your family” and “get the job done.”

This unexpected shift in rhetoric from a prominent Democrat has ignited discussions about the party’s direction and the potential for a moderate resurgence.

Cuomo’s words may signal a growing internal debate over the efficacy of progressive policies and their impact on Democratic electoral prospects as the 2024 election looms.
