Anti-Trump D.C. Official in Big Trouble – He Just Issued His Plea in Court

For years, Democrats fought to get their hands on Trump’s tax returns. In 2020 and 2021, two liberal-leaning publications released articles with Trump’s–and other wealthy Americans’–tax information.

It was later discovered that these publications received this information from someone within the IRS. A contractor for the agency allegedly stole the tax records of thousands of Americans and gave them to these media outlets.

Last month, federal agents announced an indictment against Charles Littlejohn. He was accused of breaking the law by leaking these tax records to the media. Now, he appeared before the court and issued his plea.

From Just the News:
Former IRS contractor Charles Littlejohn pleaded guilty on Thursday to leaking the tax information of thousands of wealthy Americans, including former President Donald Trump…

“Make no mistake, this was not acceptable. If anyone tells you the ends justify the means, they’re wrong,” [U.S. District Judge Ana Reyes] said.

Littlejohn faces sentencing on Jan. 29.

The man charged with stealing and leaking tax records to the media pleaded guilty this week. Charles Littlejohn was an IRS contractor who allegedly accessed the tax records of numerous wealthy Americans, including Donald Trump.

Some of those records ended up in reports from the New York Times and ProPublica.

Littlejohn reportedly received a plea deal with a potentially lightened sentence. Donald Trump’s attorney Alina Habba blasted that deal and demanded a harder sentence for Littlejohn. Judge Reyes’s comments about the crime might suggest Littlejohn faces a tough judgment.

For years, Democrats want to see Trump’s tax returns. Many Trump critics accused the former president of not paying his “fair share” in taxes. They said this, before they saw his taxes, without evidence to back their claims.

Over the years, some of Trump’s tax returns have reached the public. But they have done little to damage Trump’s reputation and Democrats have seemingly failed to use his taxes to tarnish his reputation among Americans.
