Candace Owens Leaks Private Erika Kirk Phone Call: ‘Makes My Skin Crawl’
Conservative commentator Candace Owens released audio from a private conference call featuring Erika Kirk addressing Turning Point USA employees approximately two weeks following the assassination of her husband, Charlie Kirk.
The leaked recording has ignited controversy over the widow’s demeanor and discussion topics during the internal meeting.
Owens characterized Erika’s tone as “extraordinarily upbeat” during the call with staff members.
The newly appointed chief executive and chairman of TPUSA had organized the Zoom meeting to address employees following her husband’s memorial service in Phoenix, Arizona.
The memorial drew national attention, with former President Donald Trump in attendance and broadcast coverage reaching audiences worldwide.
During the call, Erika Kirk shared statistics about organizational growth following the tragedy.
She reported nearly 100,000 chapter requests, more than 300,000 new donors, and over 50,000 new hat orders since the assassination occurred.
“Since [Charlie’s] assassination, we have just shy of 100,000 chapter requests, over 300,000 new donors, over 50,000 new hat orders,” Erika stated during the meeting.
“And I’m listing these because I want to put it into perspective because we’re not just sitting there looking at the wall trying to figure out what we’re doing,”
The widow acknowledged the unusual nature of expressing enthusiasm given the circumstances.
“It’s weird to say that I’m excited. I really hesitate saying that. It’s a really weird thing to say. But I think it comes from a space of peace knowing that God’s using this and we’re humbly witnessing the gospel in real time,” she told staff members.
Erika praised employees for their dedication during the memorial planning, noting they worked 20-hour days for a week while simultaneously grieving.
She described the memorial as “an event of a century” that attracted over 275,000 attendees with a stadium overflow at Westgate.
The 37-year-old addressed workplace dynamics during the call, encouraging staff to resolve any interpersonal conflicts.
“If you guys have any beef with each other from the past or have any issues, please put it to rest,” Erika said.
“Like my husband’s dead. Like I’m not trying to be morbid, but he’s dead, and it puts life into perspective of how short life is,” she added.
She also offered support resources to grieving employees.
“If you do need additional time to grieve, please continue to use Turning Point USA’s network of counselors. And if you need additional time off, please talk to your director about using paid time off,” she instructed staff members.
Erika referenced her late husband’s perspective from heaven during the motivational portion of the call.
“We have so much to do which is exciting. Charlie in heaven is like, you guys thought you had a busy schedule then just you wait. And he’s doing some awesome things with Jesus in heaven right now, but there’s so much work to be done,” she told employees.
Owens, whose podcast attracts tens of millions of listeners weekly, obtained the recording and shared it with her audience.
She stated that employees described Erika’s tone as “off-putting” during the meeting. “’All of this makes my skin crawl,” she added.
The podcast host has maintained a sustained focus on Erika Kirk in recent weeks, with allegations that the widow is leveraging her husband’s legacy for personal gain and steering TPUSA away from its founder’s original vision.
Erika has not directly addressed Owens’ specific claims but previously spoke to Fox News on December 10 about conspiracy theorists.
“When you go after the people that I love and you’re making hundreds of thousands of dollars every single episode going after the people that I love because somehow they’re in on this? No,” she stated.
The two women previously met face-to-face in what appeared to be a reconciliation attempt.
A spokesman for Owens indicated to the Daily Mail on Wednesday that the arrangement dissolved after alleging Erika and Andrew Kolvet, Executive Producer of the Charlie Kirk Show, “got caught, red-handed, orchestrating PR attacks” against Owens.
The spokesman further alleged that Erika has “fired employees, without cause, after moving management to press them about their perceived loyalty to her.”

The representative also claimed the TPUSA chair has avoided addressing “meaningful criticism regarding her executive actions and behavior.”
Charlie Kirk died on Sept. 10 during a speaking engagement at Utah Valley University.
Tyler Robinson, 22, faces murder charges in connection with the shooting.
