‘It’s A Bloodbath, Fox News Loses Half Their Audience After Firing Tucker Carlson’: Megyn Kelly

The ratings are in and Rupert Murdoch is in trouble after firing Fox News star Tucker Carlson. Media critic Brian Stelter got some of the story when he reported: “Fox News viewership at 8 pm ET: Tucker’s finale: 2.65 million. Monday: 2.59 million. Tuesday: 1.70 million. Wednesday: 1.33 million.”

That is not good for Fox but former Fox News star Megyn Kelly said Stelter has half the story and the real numbers are even worse.

She said: “You can’t compare Tucker’s Fri night ratings to this week’s Mon/Tue. (Fridays in prime are where ratings go to die.) Compare his last Mon/Tue to this week’s Mon/Tue. It’s a bloodbath: they lost HALF their audience.”

CNN media reporter Oliver Darcy said:

“I think it’s also noteworthy, Anderson, that without Carlson in the 8 p.m. hour over at Fox News, the ratings over there are really collapsing.

“Last night, in the key advertiser-supported, coveted 25 to 54 demo, they saw the worst ratings since pre-9/11.

“That’s a really staggering drop over at Fox News. The hour before it actually rated higher than the 8 p.m. hour, which is something of an anomaly over at Fox – something certainly that never happened when Tucker Carlson was in that hour.

“And so, I think as we’re watching this, it’s really interesting to see the ramifications it’s having at Fox and also at the smaller right-wing channel, Newsmax, which is seeing its ratings surge,” he said.

Tucker Carlson said in a video that has been viewed an astounding 72 million times: “Good evening it’s Tucker Carlson. One of the first things you realize when you step outside the noise, is how many genuinely nice people there are in this country.

“Kind and decent people, people who really care about what’s true, and a bunch of hilarious people. A lot of those. It’s gotta be the majority of the population. Even now. It’s heartening.

“The other thing you notice when you take a little time off is how unbelievably stupid most of the debates you see on television are. They’re completely irrelevant. They mean nothing. In five years we won’t even remember that we had them.

“Trust me as someone who has participated.

“And yet at the same time, the amazing thing, the undeniably big topics, the ones that will define our future get virtually no discussion at all.

“War, civil liberties, emerging science, demographic change, corporate power, natural resources, when was the last time you heard a legitimate debate about any of those issues?

“It’s been a long time.

“Debates like that are not permitted in the American media.

“Both political parties and their donors reach a consensus on what benefits them.

“They actively collude to shut down any conversation about it.
