Former President Donald Trump proved himself capable and effective to many Americans while serving in the White House. He wielded the full power of the executive branch, but during that time he never became a “dictator.”
The United States did not start a war under his administration, Trump’s business sense helped lower taxes and boost the economy, and his policies brought immigration under control. People know what they’re dealing with in Trump, and tens of millions of Americans believe if he’s back in office, he could straighten out all the messes caused by Joe Biden.
Trump’s continued climb higher in national polls and recent historic success in the Iowa caucuses has Democrats reeling. The thought of Trump becoming president again caused Kamala Harris to melt down on live television in a fit of fear.
“I am scared as heck,” Harris said. “You know, there’s an old saying that there are only two ways to run for office: Either without an opponent or scared. So on all of those points, yes, we should all be scared.”
Harris ranted on “The View” about her claims that Trump was a threat to the “freedom of a woman to make decisions about her own body” and weaponizing the Department of Justice. She also plugged fears of Trump being against people loving each other “openly and with pride” and safety against gun violence.
The segment was an open mic opportunity for Harris to attack Trump with the hosts baiting her along with their opinions and questions. An example was when co-host Joy Behar asked, “What could happen if Trump ever became, God forbid, president again? And what are you going to do to stop the crazies?”
Behar seems to equate any support of Trump as a mental health disability. That seems a bit like ableism. Harris took the opportunity to parade out more political campaign talking points in an effort to prop up a feckless Joe Biden and undermine Trump.
“We don’t run away from something when we’re scared,” Harris claimed. “We fight back against it. And this is where this election requires, rightly that President Biden and I and all of us who are part of this administration, we got to earn re-election. There is no question.”
There are many questions, including why Harris has failed in every important job she was assigned, why Biden is losing in national polls to Trump, and whether Biden can even physically or mentally make it to election day in November.
Harris and Biden had their chance to earn re-election over the last three years and failed. There is no questioning that they should be sent scurrying off into retirement.
