New Trump VP Name Just Leaked Out – This Top Republican Leader Is Now on the Shortlist
Donald Trump has long ago secured the Republican nomination for president. Many have been waiting for him to make one big announcement. This announcement could decide the fate of his campaign and future presidency. It is the person he will choose to be his running mate.
Speculation has abounded over Trump’s pick. He has floated plenty of names, mostly tried-and-true Republican allies.
But one name is starting to make the rounds. Perhaps this was someone nobody was expecting. As his stock rises among Republican voters, he might end up as Trump’s big pick.
From Just the News:
Formerly a critic of former President Donald Trump, Sen. J.D. Vance, R-Ohio, has emerged as one of his most prominent supporters, acting as a veritable proxy for Trump within the Senate GOP on matters of foreign policy and feuding with old-guard Republican stalwarts…His elevated profile amid the rows with his colleagues and his alignment with Trump over his fellow upper chamber Republicans has further prompted major news outlets and pundits across the political spectrum to suggest he could serve as Trump’s running mate during the 45th president’s 2024 campaign.
Sen. J.D. Vance has become a strong ally for Trump in the upper chamber. He is pushing Trump’s interests over foreign policy and has gone toe-to-toe with establishment-backing Republicans in the Senate.
He has become a fixture within the Trump circle so much, that some are suspecting he could end up as Trump’s running mate. Other names have bounced around including South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem, House Republican Conference Chairwoman Elise Stefanik, Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C., and former Democratic Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard.
But Trump has not announced his decision yet. Vance might be a good choice, given he comes from a swing state. Ohio is leaning hard right, though, so Trump might not need Vance to tip the balance. Coming from that part of the country, however, Vance might be able to pull in voters from other nearby swing states Trump needs.
It seems Trump will keep his announcement a secret for a little bit while long, though. He might make the announcement at a big event, to stir up more enthusiasm for his campaign.
