NY Mayor’s Career Spirals into Danger Zone – New Report Exposes 1 Terrifying Betrayal
Public policies instituted by Democrats in major cities across the country have produced unwanted side effects that include homelessness, budget shortages, illegal immigrant housing, and crime. Like the failed policies of Joe Biden that are hurting Americans, big city actions are causing the people to turn on their leaders.
One of the shining examples of liberal rule among big cities has been New York City – the Big Apple. But the shine has worn off the nation’s largest concrete jungle and its mayor is facing backlash for his policies.
Mayor Eric Adams took office in 2022 and since then has promoted liberal policies across the city. Among his ill-received policies are budget cuts to the police department, public education, and other city-funded services. He has fallen out of favor with constituents to a point even liberals are questioning his leadership.
From the Daily Caller:
A Quinnipiac University survey released Wednesday found New York City voters hit Adams with a 28% job performance score, which is the lowest approval rating for the position the pollster had found since it began asking the question in 1996.
Frustration with Adams has grown to the point Democrats are seeking an alternative to him in the 2025 election and others looking to fight his budget cuts. Adams was also accused of sexual assault in November by an anonymous plaintiff who claims the incident took place when the two worked together in 1993. All this has created a rift between Adams and fellow Democrats.
“Back in early October, our thought was: This is still an incumbent, strong, popular enough,” Ana María Archila, co-director of the left-wing New York Working Families Party, told Politico. “But the last several weeks have shown that this mayor is not only not strong and not popular, but he might not be the mayor for his whole term.”
One city council member said publicly that Adams’ budget cuts are “going to be devastating” and they are unnecessary at the level planned. Affordable housing and crime are also top concerns of New Yorkers, and fewer are believing what the mayor is preaching.
Jasmine Gripper, the other founder of the Working Families Party, told Politico that the mayor is living in the conditions he created.
“He promoted a narrative of high crime when the numbers didn’t show it,” Gripper said. “And now, he’s trying to convince New Yorkers that crime is low, and they don’t believe him, because he created a narrative that promoted so much fear.”
While Adams maintains that crime is down, jobs are up and he is delivering “billions of dollars into the pockets of working people,” liberals are recruiting potential challengers to replace him. One effort is being fueled by the Jim Owles Liberal Democratic Club, a left-wing group.
“We’re talking to more people,” Allen Roskoff, president of the group, told Politico. “People that really weren’t considering running before.”
