Barack Fuels Divorce Rumors After He’s Spotted Dining Without Michelle Again

Barack Obama was seen enjoying an evening out in New York City on Friday, accompanied by his sister Auma rather than his wife Michelle Obama. 

The siblings visited the exclusive ZZ Club in Hudson Yards, a private members establishment featuring a Japanese restaurant, cigar terrace and the world’s only private Carbone restaurant location.

The 63-year-old former president dressed in an all-black suit for the occasion as he and Auma, who share the same father, were photographed leaving the upscale venue together. 

The former commander-in-chief appeared relaxed during this latest public outing without his wife of over three decades.

This outing represents the latest in a series of public appearances where the Obamas have been seen separately rather than together, with Michelle also frequently spending time with her own brother, Craig Robinson. 

The pattern of solo appearances has not gone unnoticed by the public or media.

Michelle and Craig have strengthened their sibling relationship professionally as well, recently launching their new podcast called “IMO (In My Opinion) with Michelle Obama and Craig Robinson” in March of this year. 

The podcast initiative marks another separate professional venture for the former first lady.

The former first couple, who left the White House in 2016, have maintained public profiles but increasingly appear to be pursuing separate engagements and activities. 

This growing trend has raised eyebrows among followers of the political power couple.

Speculation about potential marital troubles began intensifying earlier this year when Michelle was noticeably absent from two high-profile events attended by her husband: former President Jimmy Carter’s funeral and President Donald Trump’s inauguration. 

Her absence from these significant political events sparked immediate questions.

TTOA previously reported that when questioned about these absences, Michelle’s team attributed her missing Carter’s funeral to “scheduling conflicts,” specifically citing a pre-planned vacation in Hawaii. 

Michelle herself addressed the resulting rumors during an appearance on Sophia Bush’s “Work in Progress” podcast, suggesting people couldn’t accept that she was making independent choices. 

“I mean, so much so that this year people were, you know, they couldn’t even fathom that I was making a choice for myself that they had to assume that my husband and I are divorcing,” Michelle stated during the interview. 

She further commented, “That this couldn’t be a grown woman just making a set of decisions for herself, right?” 

These remarks, however, appeared to only intensify rather than quell the speculation about their relationship, as they failed to directly address why the couple has rarely been seen together.

The Daily Mail reported that the couple was last photographed dining together at Mother Wolf, a Los Angeles restaurant, in December. 

Since then, they have primarily been seen separately in public engagements, creating a noticeable pattern of independent appearances spanning several months.

The outlet further noted that in February, Michelle returned to Mother Wolf, this time accompanied by her brother Craig as the siblings were captured laughing together. 

They subsequently embarked on a media tour promoting their new podcast venture, further cementing their professional partnership.

Observant fans did notice Michelle wearing her diamond wedding ring during a visit to The Academy headquarters in North Hollywood, potentially contradicting separation rumors. 

Meanwhile, Barack has continued his own solo public appearances, including a dinner in San Francisco last month without Michelle. 

He was also spotted dining at a Japanese-Californian restaurant in West Los Angeles with their daughters, with Michelle again absent from the family gathering, reinforcing the pattern of separate activities.

On Valentine’s Day, Barack shared a photo of the couple with the caption, “Thirty-two years together and you still take my breath away. Happy Valentine’s Day, Michelle Obama!”

Michelle responded by sharing the same image and writing, “If there’s one person I can always count on, it’s you, Barack Obama. You’re my rock. Always have been. Always will be. Happy Valentine’s Day, honey!” 

Barack also publicly celebrated Michelle’s 61st birthday on social media, referring to her as the “love of my life” and adding, “You fill every room with warmth, wisdom, humor, and grace – and you look good doing it. I’m so lucky to be able to take on life’s adventures with you. Love you!”
